Hey, Philly: We want to hear your upcoming New Year’s health and fitness goals! (Yes, it may only be Halloween but in magazine world, we’ve already mentally cut the turkey and opened the presents.)
Tell me a specific health and fitness goal and you’ll automatically be entered to win a free Thai massage from 3000BC and we may use your goal in the January issue!
NOTE: Losing weight or getting in shape doesn’t count! Tell me specifics, the more specific the better: Maybe you want to clean up your diet, firm up your thighs, get the abs back that you had in your 20s, start running in the city, try hot yoga, join a gym in the city, learn to cook healthier meals for the family, or try rock climbing, gymnastics, or ballet … the list is endless! Be honest and be creative.
To Enter: Post your health and fitness goals on BeWellPhilly’s Facebook page before noon on November 8, 2010. Winner will be chosen randomly and contacted via Facebook.
Good luck!

About 6 years ago, I ran the Disney World FULL Marathon. And in 2011, I’m taking on my 2nd marathon
I haven’t decided on a specific race yet, but that I’m running one is already on my calendar. Let the training begin … 2011!
My Health and Fitness goals are to improve my flexibility, strength and endurance with a combination of Pilates, Yoga, Free Weights and Elliptical workoputs. My biggest problem has been motivation..
My goal is to get back into dancing on a regular basis. I need the exercise, and most importantly the stress release! I would love to work both hip hop and ballet into my schedule, at least once a week.
My goal is to increase my strength through an every-other-day yoga and weight training program. I am also looking into a barre-exercise program which sounds inviting from a previous Philly Mag article.
I resolve to eat less and more healthfully and lose this belly!
start running. in 2011, i want to do the broad st run. furthermore, i want to fit into the pants that i wore 5 years ago. add yoga to the mix for increasing flexibility. i’m turning 30 in 2011, so the running will keep my metabolism up so i don’t become blah!
To run a full marathon in 2011!!
I want to take more walks — I’m aiming for an average of 10,000 steps a day!
To start taking walks again! After three kids I need to do something for myself.
In the next five years, I would want to start certified lessons to be a Yoga Instructor and run Philly Marathon for next upcoming years. Challenge myself to new sport or hobby to increase my self awareness, physique, strength and momentum and interchangeable spirit.
To get my back problems under control and actually train for that sprint triathlon I’ve been talking about!
