She’s no Simon Cowell (and hallelujah for that), but 6abc meteorologist Cecily Tynan will judge Sunday’s Idol for a Cure singing competition at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in KOP. Contestants will take the stage to show off their stuff in front of a panel of judges—Cecily will be joined by talent scout and producer Brenda Goldsmith, film director Peter Odiorne and Phillies on-air personality Scott Palmer—for a chance to be crowned winner.

Proceeds from the event go to Singing at the Top of My Lungs, an organization started by Philly native Julia Rae, a 20-year-old singer who was diagnosed with asthma and cystic fibrosis as a child. Her organization helps raise money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, and a portion of proceeds from Idol for a Cure will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Tickets for Sunday’s event are on sale through December 6th. Get them here.

$50, December 9th from 4 to 8 p.m., Radisson Hotel Valley Forge, 1160 First Avenue, King of Prussia.
