New Juice Bar/Burrito Joint Animo Coming to Center City

I hitched a ride to work this morning and snapped the above photo from the car window. Looks like Center City’s getting its very own Animo location!

I first discovered Haddonfield-based juice bar/burrito shop back in January when I put together this guide for where to find healthy juices and smoothies in our area. As both a burrito- and juice-lover, I sent a silent prayer up to the heavens that a second outpost would someday open in the city. So this is basically a miracle, people, orchestrated by yours truly. You’re welcome.

Philly.com first reported on the news last month, pegging early April as the official opening date for Animo’s second location. It’ll be at 17th and Arch in the ground floor of The Arch, the new apartment building across from the Comcast Center. Assuming it has the same menu as the Haddonfield location, Center City lunchers can expect juice creations like the Lime Light (apple, lime, carrot, ginger and celery) and Gimme a Beet (lemon, lime, beet, greens, and carrot), along with a laundry list of other fresh-squeezed options.

On the burrito menu, I’m particularly intrigued by The Garden burrito: fresh hummus, fresh spinach, sliced cucumber, sliced carrot, cherry tomatoes and Animo vinaigrette. Yum, right? There are also options for Petitos, smaller-portioned burritos for those with smaller appetites.
