Canceled Electric Run 2013 to Be Rescheduled, Registration Transfer Available

I was super bummed on Saturday night when my photographer texted to say the Electric Run, which he’d just begun shooting, had been canceled due to the weather. If you were there, all decked out, LED’d and ready to go, I imagine you were even more bummed, so I feel ya.

Perhaps here’s some good news: Word just came down the pike that the race, which was called off due to storm activity after only a few waves of runners had headed out on the course near Fairmount Park’s Belmont Mansion, is in the process of being rescheduled. Organizers are not offering refunds, but you are free to transfer your registration for any Electric Run in 2013 or 2014, including next year’s Philly race. Check out the email sent by CEO Dan Hill:

Dear Electric Runners –

We’re bummed.  We had big plans for you Saturday night and were totally ready to go.

However, the lightning got too close and for your safety and per the direction of the Philadelphia Fire department we had to shut down. As you may have heard, the Taylor Swift Concert did the same thing. We support that call by city officials and agree your safety is of the utmost importance.

We still want to show you our stuff and will be working with city officials in regards to rescheduling.  If you just can’t wait, we will transfer your registration, free of charge, to ANY Electric Run event in 2013 OR 2014 (this would include Philly when we come back).

We ask you to be patient as we work through setting up the process. We will inform you by email by the end of the week with exact instructions on how to make this happen.

The entire Electric Run team empathizes with your frustrations Saturday night, but we are glad that you are safe, and we hope to provide you with “Our World” in the near future.

Sincerely,

Dan Hill

Founder & CEO
