Bride-to-be Blogger Leslie: The Gift of Time

I recently have been come across a glorious gift that I didn’t register for: the gift of time! If you read a few posts back, I ran my first marathon in Chicago three weeks ago with my fiance, my parents and his parents in attendance cheering me on. It was an amazing experience to run a marathon and it was even more enjoyable to have my family there to support me.

This past weekend I ran another marathon — yes, only 3 weeks after my first marathon; I am slightly crazy — the New York Marathon. It was an unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime experience running through the five boroughs of New York City, over over bridges with two million spectators. It was a race like no other!

If you can imagine, running a marathon is no easy feat. It challenged my mind, body and my spirit. Running two marathons in one month is even a bigger commitment and training for those marathons while wedding planning (along with everything else in my life!) is taking multitasking to a whole new level.

Now that my marathon craziness has come to an end (for the moment), I have been given the gift of time to focus on our upcoming wedding. Our to-do list includes finalizing our honeymoon, looking at invitations, booking the music for the ceremony, and lots of other little details we still have to work out. It should be an exciting time as I approach my last holiday season as a “single” lady, and then I will enter 2011,  which will be my wedding year! I can’t wait to see what the next seven months has in store for me!
