We so hate to hear of any story where a couple has an unpleasant experience with one of their wedding vendors—let alone has to bring a suit against them!—and we have to say, especially when it’s the photographer. Wedding photos are truly one of the few tangible things—save for a dried, shadow-boxed bouquet, perhaps, and, of course, the Dress—that can so bring a couple back to that day and fill them with real and vivid memories.
So, it was at least somewhat good news when we read this morning that couples defrauded by Burlington County photographer Jack Holton—there were 80 complaints brought against him just in 2009—could go through the Burlington County Office of Consumer Affairs website and look for their wedding photos! Apparently, there are literally hundreds of CDs and negatives, and most of them have at least a date or either the bride or groom’s names labeled on them. Most of his victims came from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and Holton did serve a prison term for for defrauding the couples whose wedding days he photographed.
If these couples can, at last, put together their wedding album, hopefully this story can have a happy ending, after all.
