Neither Men Nor Women Want The Woman To Propose, Says Study

Not surprising, says we.
A study conducted at the (rather liberal) University of California, Santa Cruz asked 277 heterosexual college students about their feelings on proposals, name changing and general gender roles in marriage. Of that group, not a one of them said they prefer the idea of the chick proposing. (Specifically, two-thirds of the entire group said they’d “definitely” want the man to propose; 2.8 percent of women said they’d “kind of” want to propose; no male questioned said he was into this at all.)
Everyone was a little more flexible on the topic of name-changing, though—three-fifths of the ladies were found willing to change their last name, in fact. Read more details about the students’ reasoning here.
