Delaware County may just be the new hot-spot for destination weddings.

A recent outdoor expansion of Tavola Restaurant + Bar is the first in a series of three major renovations at Springfield Country Club, all which aim to make the space a resort for wedding parties and their guests. And as of this morning, it is officially up and running.

The brand new outdoor 6,000 square-foot dining and lounge area has a covered bar, misting system, and three fire pits (one of which seats 25 people!)—all to make your wedding guests feel like they could be in the tropics. Of course, the view might be hard to ignore: the entire area overlooks the green of Springfield Country Club’s golf course.

The space features an outdoor ceremony site, complete with a chuppah-like arch and water wall, that can fit between 150-200 people. And in case of inclement weather, Springfield Country Club comes prepared with a Plan B: the Fairway Ballroom, and a Plan C: an outdoor, covered veranda. In case of larger parties, the Club also offers the Grand Ballroom (which will be newly renovated in the beginning of August, fitting 500 guests) and the Golf View Ballroom, which can hold up to 400.

Catering is typically per-person and all-inclusive, with a 5-hour open bar and options for stations, buffet, or sit-down dining, depending on your preference. The sample menu includes both hot and cold hor d’oeuvres, such as coconut shrimp and bruschetta, and a three-course dinner, including a first course, a main dish, such as filet or lobster (or both!), and, of course, the cake. Add-ons include the always-popular margarita bar and Viennese sweet table. While the facility has a preferred vendor list, brides and grooms are welcome to bring in their own vendors, as well.

Bonus: A 92-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel is scheduled to open on the same property by the end of August, so your future wedding guests will be able to crash onsite post-party; in fact, they’ll be given priority to stay there.

So while the groomsmen can enjoy a round of golf before the Big Day, you and your bridesmaids can treat yourselves to a relaxing day at the nearby spa. And if you’re interested in partying there the whole weekend long, the Club’s on-site coordinators will help plan your rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, and, of course, the all-important Sunday brunch. All that’s left for you to worry about is not being distracted by the sweeping views when it comes time to say “I do.”  — Amanda Wolkin
