Honestly, picking out invitations was unexpectedly one of the more difficult parts of planning. Maybe some brides are really in to stationary and some just aren’t? Now, I’m not saying that I didn’t care what invites we chose. Like just about every part of this wedding process, I spent quite a bit of time researching our choices. However, it was a pretty hard decision and ended up being a little more involved than it probably should have been.

BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: GORGING ON WEDDING CAKEPosted by Carolyn Kyle on 3/9/2012 at 6:09PM | 1 Comment
For the sake of full disclosure, I’m just putting it out there that I’m writing this blog after being on a low-carb diet since Monday. I have a pretty strong sweet tooth so, of course, take me off carbs and all I can think about is cake! Our package at Winterthur actually comes with the cake included, supplied by a choice of local bakers. After looking at our choices and the cake flavors they offered, we felt like the Liz Marden Bakery was a good choice for us. Naturally, I did my homework prior to setting up a meeting and knew in advance that she has glowing reviews for her cakes. Chris doesn’t like sweets as much as I do so this was really my time to shine. |
BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: WE REGISTERED! (ONLINE.)Posted by Carolyn Kyle on 2/22/2012 at 10:20AM | No Comments
As tempting as it was to rip through stores with registry guns in hand, Chris and I ended up taking the easy way out and registering for gifts at home online. I like to read reviews and comparison shop, and this just seemed like the easiest and most efficient way to do both. Plus, neither of us (particularly Chris) really likes to shop, so this just seemed like a pretty painless way to cross another thing off our wedding to-do list. |
BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: HOW SHOULD I WEAR MY HAIR FOR THE WEDDING?Posted by Carolyn Kyle on 2/16/2012 at 1:14PM | 1 Comment
So … I’m a little unprepared for this weekend. During this whole wedding process, I’ve been pretty well-researched and almost compulsive in my readiness for different events. Wedding dress shopping? I’ve got a list of dresses to see and I’m spray tanned and in my Spanx. Venues? I’ve been stalking photography blogs and wedding forums for months narrowing down sites. But for my hair trial this Saturday? Yikes. My hair hasn’t been cut or colored since October, and I haven’t even looked at pictures of different styles. This isn’t like me at all! |
BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: THE HONEYMOON IS BOOKED!Posted by Carolyn Kyle on 2/2/2012 at 11:39AM | No Comments
I’m pretty excited, because Chris and I officially put a deposit down for a honeymoon this week! I rarely travel, and didn’t think that a honeymoon was going to be in the budget this year, so this plan is a huge deal for me. And of course, as I do with most things, I did quite a bit of research before we committed to our trip. |
BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: DO I WANT EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND A SPRAY TAN FOR MY WEDDING DAY?Posted by Carolyn Kyle on 1/19/2012 at 11:52AM | 8 Comments
Now that I’ve started off on my quest for healthier skin, I have some more beauty-related decisions to make. In every day life, I’m pretty low maintenance: I am a hair-in-a-ponytail, little-makeup, and out-the-door kind of a girl. However, like most brides, I want to look a little bit more done up on my wedding day compared to my usual look. This has led me to pursue a couple different beauty ideas that could be a little risky if they go wrong… |
BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: MY BRIDAL SKINCARE PLANPosted by Carolyn Kyle on 1/9/2012 at 9:18AM | 8 Comments
Given that my skin has been a nightmare with this crazy warm/cold winter we’re having, it seems pertinent to talk about some beauty goals I have to get my skin in top shape for my wedding day. I have combination skin that can be prone to breakouts. I’ve been trying different cleansers to see if I can find one my skin is agreeable with. I haven’t quite found one that I like just yet, but I’m trying to give a fair trial to each that I buy. I even bought one of those automated skin brushes that are so popular … I haven’t been the best about using it regularly, but it certainly has a big enough fan following that I should get on board. I also plan on getting my first facial. I’m a little nervous about it, but I know people who swear by them, so here goes nothing! |

BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CAROLYN: BRIDESMAID DRESS DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONSPosted by Carolyn Kyle on 11/28/2011 at 12:24PM | 3 Comments
Bridesmaid’s dress shopping is something that I’ve been procrastinating for a while now. To be honest, I think I probably should have already started shopping, but I’m just not too sure where to start. There are just so many choices! |
