Here's a Honeymoon-Perfect Romance Package Deal at Negril, Jamaica's Moon Dance Cliffs Resorts

Moon Dance Cliffs, Jamaica.

We were recently alerted to this tropical, romance-focused travel deal that we wanted to be sure and pass along to our honeymoon-perusing brides! It’s to the Moon Dance Cliffs Resort in Negril, Jamaica. (Let’s all pause for a moment to imagine we’re there now. Sigh. OK.)

The Romance Getaway package is good for four nights on the resort’s non-inclusive plan, and includes:

  • Upgraded accommodations with a private veranda.
  • A chilled bottle of wine and tropical fruit upon arrival.
  • A signature Kamala Caress couples massage at the resort spa.
  • A candlelit dinner for two one night, serviced either in the cliffside cave or private gazebo.
  • A package price of $1,000 during the off-season (April 7-December 20) and $1,200 during the in-season (January 2-April 6).

Sounds like it’d make a pretty sweet stop on a resort-hopping ‘moon in Jamaica. So get planning!

Kate Spade and Starwood Hotels Are Doing a Really Awesome Dream Vacation Sweepstakes

iStockphoto

So this landed in my inbox today—not because I’m a media person or anything, just because I, like, shop at Kate Spade—and since my first thought was Ooh, honeymoon!—that’s right, brides, I think of you before my own vacation needs—I wanted to make sure that if this didn’t land in your inbox, you still saw it:

Kate Spade is doing a sweepstakes with the Starwood Preferred Guest program to give away what would appear to be a super awesome vacation prize. Here are the details:

  • The prize includes up to five nights for you and your plus one at your choice of over 200 Starwood resorts; two roundtrip flights; a $500 gift card to Kate Spade; a Kate Spade for SPG bon shopper (a super cute tote bag); and a piece of Steamline for Kate Spade luggage.
  • Check out the slideshow here of the specific Starwood resorts that inspired those super cute bon shopper totes. (We’re talking Bora Bora, Maui, Greece, Phuket—you know, those types of places.)
  • You can enter in-store or online until June 6th. (Here are the official rules.)

Not bad, huh? That oughtta get your honeymoon inspiration flowing.

If you win, we’d like to go to Bora Bora, please. Thanks.

Good luck!

HONEYMOON DESTINATION: PUNTA CANA

Honeymoon here in the Dominican Republic for a post-nuptial getaway filled with Latin culture and gorgeous beaches.

HONEYMOON DESTINATION: Punta Cana

Beach connoisseurs, this one’s for you. Sure, Punta Cana is home to several luxe resorts willing to cater to a guest’s every whim, but nothing man-made can rival what this spot was God-given: postcard-perfect Caribbean-fantasy beaches with flour-soft white sand, turquoise water, year round sun and a warm ocean breeze. Europeans have long known the beaches here are tops and the resorts more reasonably priced than elsewhere (and have been coming in droves since the airport was built in 1984), but Americans have caught on in recent years. According to a 2012 report from Expedia, Punta Cana is now one of the top five most frequented international destinations for U.S. travelers—lots of them honeymooners looking for the no-hassle frills of the area’s many upscale all-inclusives. Among the best stretches of sand here is Bávaro Beach, a mile-long expanse that sits behind an offshore reef, leaving waters calm, warm and pool-like. The latest upgrade to the Bávaro scene is the Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort, a premium, quiet, adults-only corner of the larger Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe.

Plan That Honeymoon: Travel + Leisure's 19 Best Caribbean Resorts (Plus 17 Other Amazing International Beaches)

There are two roundups we stumbled upon today that so got us daydreaming about our next vacation, we figured they were guaranteed to help you along with your honeymoon inspiration/research/plans/booking. Not that you probably need much help on this dreary Monday, but still.

The first one is Travel + Leisure‘s roundup of the best caribbean resorts, complete with a picture-filled slideshow. They range from couples-only to all-inclusive to private, secluded resorts—in places like Bermuda, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, and lots more.

The other one was an interesting reader survey we saw on CNN.com: They simply asked readers to share their favorite beaches, and put together a slideshow of the responses. Not just in the Caribbean, these ridiculously awesome-looking places are scattered across the globe—all you’ve got to do is find a resort nearby.

Happy browsing—and booking.

WEATHER CHANNEL’S ONLINE TOOL HELPS YOU TRACK THE WEATHER FOR YOUR WEDDING AND HONEYMOON

Posted by Amanda Willis on 4/8/2013 at 6:48PM | No Comments

CDC IssWeather Channel's Online Tool Helps You Track the Weather For Your Wedding and Honeymoon ues Wedding Day Survival Guides

Ingram Publishing

They say April showers bring May flowers, but did you know that July is normally the wettest month for the Philadelphia area?

We recently stumbled upon this cool feature on Weather.com that allows brides to create a My Wedding Weather page on their site to help them track the weather for both their wedding date and location, and honeymoon destination and location.

Let’s say you are torn between holding your wedding at the Shore or at an outdoor garden space in Philadelphia: Weather.com will compare the two outdoor locations for you. Just punch in your wedding date, if you have it, and it will tell you what to expect, weather-wise. Or, once you’ve settled on your location, it can also tell you the average hottest, coolest, wettest and driest months for the area, if you haven’t yet decided on a date. You want to tie the knot at sunset? It can tell you the exact time to hold your ceremony.

And of course, there’s the honeymoon: Just search any of the locations that you are your groom are considering, and you’ll not only get the weather conditions for your potential post-nuptial getaway destination (especially helpful for locales where hurricanes tend to occur), but also a few tips on what to pack. It can help you make these weather-related decisions up for four years in advance!

We know having to deal with the weather—predict it, prepare for it, try and outsmart it—is one of the more stressful things you have to tackle during the planning process, but using a tool like this might actually save you a few headaches.

Remember: Whether it is cold or whether it is hot, we shall have weather, whether or not!

Anyone else find a great online tool for helping you track the weather as it concerns your wedding?

BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER CARLY: OUR HONEYMOON IS BOOKED!

Bride-to-be Blogger Carly: Our Honeymoon is Booked!

iStockphoto

After months of looking for our perfect honeymoon destination, one sort of fell into our laps the other nigh—and two days later, we have booked our trip!

Sean and I love the beach, so it’s been no question that we wanted to go somewhere warm and tropical. But those criteria only narrow the list so much. We also knew we didn’t want to spend a full day (or more) traveling each way, which eliminated places like Hawaii and Fiji from our list.  So, we were able to narrow potential destinations to the Caribbean and Mexico.

Sean’s parents had offered us their time-share to cut down on costs, and we’d totally planned to take them up on that. But, the challenge was finding an opening! Sean and I are getting married the weekend before the 4th of July, which is apparently a big week to travel. (I thought everyone just went down the Shore!) So availability in the time-share has been very limited, and, unless we wanted to bump our honeymoon to a later date, pickin’s were slim.

BRIDE-TO-BE BLOGGER STEPHANIE: PLEASE HELP US CHOOSE OUR HONEYMOON DESTINATION

Bride-to-be Blogger Stephanie: Please Help Us Choose Our Honeymoon Destination

“Have you decided where you’re going on your honeymoon yet?” It’s the question that follows me everywhere, and I wish I had an answer!

Pat and I have been determinedly researching options. And yet, we can’t seem to come to a decision. Traveling means a lot to us. It’s something we’re passionate about, so we are very carefully weighing our options. We’d love to get your input!

Bora Bora It’s like something out of dream: the over-the-water bungalows with private plunge pools and a ladder that leads down to the ocean, views of Mount Otemanu, pristine sand, turquoise water. It seems like that once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity, particularly perfect for a honeymoon. The downside? It doesn’t look like there’s much to do beyond lounging around. I’m slightly worried we could get bored.
