Last week, a few famous faces converged in Philly at the Hotel Palomar for a great cause. They were in town to film a Public Service Announcement for Dining Out for Life, now in its 22nd year.

Ted Allen, a host on the Food Network’s Chopped and one of the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy castmembers, Pam Grier, an actress who appeared as Kit in The L Word, and Daisy Martinez, a popular Food Network host and author, all pitched in to bring attention to the ActionAIDS event, which raises an estimated four million dollars annually to benefit AIDS service organizations in more than 50 cities throughout North America.

The event actually got its start in Philly – and now includes more than 3,500 restaurants that donate a portion of their proceeds from this one night each year to local agencies.

“Dining Out for Life is an easy way to make a meaningful contribution without spending more than a meal,” says Allen.

The PSA, produced by Shooters, will air in dozens of markets during the next few months leading up to Dining Out for Life on April 26.
