Morgan Freeman, Cheyenne Jackson, Ellen Barkin and others can be seen in a trailer for the play 8 - written by Dustin Lance Black, the screenwriter who won an Oscar for Milk. Using real transcripts, the play traces the rise and fall of Proposition 8, the legislation that bans same-sex marriage in California.

Here, a slew of celebrities participate in a staged reading of the play (and soon-to-be movie) in New York. George Clooney is expected to begin shooting the film version this spring, followed by productions of the play around the country:
