The Club Body Center on the 1200 block of Chancellor Street near Camac was evacuated after midnight Thursday when a fire broke out. The Inquirer reports that eight people fled the four-story bathhouse at the time of the fire. Damage is believed to be minimal as the fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes. No injuries were reported on the scene.
Though the cause is yet unknown, the fire is currently under investigation. When we called the bathhouse this morning, no one was available to answer our questions about where the fire started and what the damage is like.
Club Body Center is part of CBC Resorts with bathhouses in Philly, Providence, R.I., and Miami. It’s open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and is for men only.
