We got a hold of Barbra Streisand‘s song list from last night’s show. As you may know, Philly was the first stop in the diva’s North American tour. And while we’ve been hearing good things and bad, Facebook was buzzing with reviews this morning.
“I can’t even begin to tell you how good Barbra Streisand’s concert was in Philly,” posted Deb Francesco, who was honored this weekend at the Indigo Ball. “A three hour show. She smiled right at me. It could have been the guy behind me, but I refuse to believe that because I blew her a kiss.”
William David Eckard wrote: “I haven’t seen this many white people at the Wells Fargo Center since the last Mitt Romney rally!”
If you weren’t among the lucky ticket holders, here’s what you missed from last night’s three-hour spectacle at the Wells Fargo Center (60-piece orchestra and all):

“As If We Never Said Goodbye”

PHILLY
EVENTS

This was my 5th Streisand concert…. a happy event whenever she performs live in Philly or New York. Last night, she commanded the stage at Wells Fargo with an eclectic mix of songs chosen from her 50 year career. Despite a few vocal flubs and missed cues, I was astonished by her vocal interpretive gifts and sheer power throughout. Outstanding choices included Here’s To Life, What’ll I Do and My Funny Valentine with Chris Botti plus a heartfelt The Way We Were/Through The Eyes Of Love in tribute to Marvin Hamlisch. This show was heavy with references to Brooklyn — appropriately since the show heads to the new Barclay Center this week. Has her voice aged well? Yes. Her medley of Jule Styne’s big booming Broadway hits (Rose’s Turn/Some People/Don’t Rain On My Parade) was thrilling. Pure Streisand. If “Gypsy” makes it to the screen with Barbra as Mama Rose… she will be ferocious !!
