The man responsible for the epic Angels in America is also behind the new film Lincoln, in which Daniel Day-Lewis convincingly brings Abraham Lincoln to life in the months leading up to his assassination. In a recent interview, the screenwriter talked about why he thinks the president may have been gay – and why he avoided the controversial discussion in the film:
