Yesterday, Foobooz released the list of 2013 James Beard Semifinalists, and 19 area chefs, restaurants and beer professionals made the cut. Of note for our purposes is lesbian chef Marcie Turney, who is nominated in the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic category for her work at Barbuzzo.
