Tonight: The Attic Youth Center Does Drag

A crop of young performers in the Attic Youth Center’s Drag City performance group are hosting their third-annual Sweethearts and Red Hots drag show. The troupe promisses sassy retellings of current pop hits and drag classics. It’ll be a nice way to see what the future of Philly’s drag scene will look like — and a great opportunity to support a stellar cause. Proceeds support the Center’s youth leadership retreat in March. 6 p.m., $12, William Way Community Center, 1315 Spruce St.

Two East Passyunk businesses are hosting their first-ever Queers on the Avenue (QOTA) gathering. Chhaya Café (1823 E. Passyunk Ave.) and Home (1815 E. Passyunk Ave.), a café/brunch spot and home furnishings boutique, respectively, will welcome guests with free nibbles, hot apple cider and free samples of Quaker City Mercantile’s Spodee wine. 6 p.m.-9 p.m., free, various locations (see above).

Aspiring artists should be all over the William Way’s Art in the Archives workshops with artist Emmett Ramstad. In the course of the event’s four sessions, participants will create a piece of mixed-media art that’s inspired by the work in the Center’s John J. Wilcox Jr. Archives. When it all wraps up, the works will be put on display within the Archives. Guests must sign up for all four session. Tonight, Feb. 28, March 4 and March 11, 5-6:30 p.m., William Way Community Center.
