Poll: Delaware Voters Are Gung-Ho For Gay Marraige

New poll results show that our tiniest neighboring state may be OKing same-sex nuptials this year.

You are now entering a gay-marriage-friendly state.

In an interview this week with the Huffington Post, Delaware governor Jack Markell declared that marriage equality in his state will “inevitably” be achieved in 2013, and it looks like his power of positive thinking is starting to manifest his accusations. Equality Denver just released poll results that show Delaware citizens clearly in support of gay people tying the knot in their state. The results reveal 54 percent of the population backs legalizing gay marriage, while only 37 percent oppose. Support is even higher among Democrats and Independents, who support marriage equality by 65 percent and 61 percent, respectively.

Sometimes it feels like Pennsylvania is the awkward girl surrounded by a group of friends who have everything going for them. It’s hard not to be a little jealous, but I guess the best thing to do is smile and be happy for them. Our day will be coming soon enough … right?
