Want to Get Gay-Married in PA? Go to Montgomery County! [UPDATED]

Pennsylvania's third largest county says marriage licenses are available to any same-sex couple who wants one.

Philly.com reports:

Officials in the third-largest county in Pennsylvania vowed Tuesday to issue same-sex marriage licenses to any couple who seeks one  …

The chairman of the Montgomery County commissioners, Democrat Josh Shapiro, said he supports same-sex marriage and was ready for the county to defend the stance in court. The offer of a marriage license “stands for any other same-sex couple who might approach the county in the future,” Shapiro said Tuesday.

This of course would defy a 1996 Pennsylvania law that says marriage is between one man and one woman, and it raises all sorts of interesting questions about its legality, especially after the Supreme Court recently decided to strike down DOMA.
