You just won't believe the creativity.

Come on, men hunters, where’s your creativity? This week, Manhunt (link NSFW), the popular online dating service for MSM, released an interesting graphic that shows, state by state, the site’s most frequently used profile headlines. And would you believe that in 49 states it’s a measly “Hey, guys!” The only territory to break the mold is Connecticut, who gets right down to business with “Looking for a top.” READ MORE

If you’re finding that hookups are harder to come by these days, don’t take it personally. A new study from the National Surveys of Family Growth (NSFG) finds that the modern gay man is simply racking up fewer sexual partners than he has in the past.  READ MORE

In "Tease," Jan Rattia offers a rare window into the lives of those mysterious men who make their living disrobing for strangers.

Jan Rattia has been taking pictures since he was a teenager in his native Venezuela, but it wasn’t until he was well into his thirties — and feeling unfulfilled with his career in business — that he decided to turn his passion for photography into a career. A graduate of New York’s prestigious International Center for Photography, Rattia, 38, moved from Atlanta to Rittenhouse Square with his partner, Neil Thall, last year. Today he debuts his first Philly gallery show, provocatively titled “Tease.” READ MORE

GAYBORHOOD BATHHOUSE READIES FOR ITS MAY RE-OPENING [UPDATED]

Club Body Center veterans will notice more than a few touch-ups when it re-opens in May under a new name and owner.

Posted by Brandon Baker on 4/8/2013 at 1:23PM | 1 Comment

Soon-to-be Club Philadelphia owner Chris Srnicek.

When 40-year-old bathhouse mogul Chris Srnicek began managing the notoriously theft-prone and drug-ridden Club Body Center (CBC) in May 2012, he informed his staff — in an adorable Canadian accent — that he wasn’t about to build a business on “crackheads and shitheads.” But his takeover was halted in August when a gas fire closed down the bathhouse and sparked  $250,000 in renovations that spiff up the new digs — now named Club Philadelphia — and, Srnicek hopes, eliminate the club’s seedy reputation.“I want people to say ‘I’m going to Club Philly’ and not have people be like, ‘Ew, why are you going there? Tramp!’”

Srnicek, who is expected to close a deal by summer that would make him the official owner and manager, says the entire building has undergone a bevy of infrastructural upgrades, like a brand-new roof and air-conditioning system, heated floors and re-worked electrical lining. Then there’s the renovations meant to bring the bathhouse more aesthetically up-to-date. READ MORE

30 HOT GAY AND LESBIAN SEX SCENES

Definitely not safe for work.

Posted by Josh Middleton on 4/2/2013 at 11:18AM | No Comments

Ohad Knoller and Yehuda Levi make snow sex look steamy in Yossi & Jagger.

A while back, I shared a list of 25 of the best gay sex scenes, but apparently that only scratched the warm, tender surface. Today, Out.com released a list of its 30 favorites, which even goes outside the gay-male spectrum to include a whole section of hot moments in lesbian cinema history, too, like Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly’s erotic moment in Bound, and the MTV Movie Award-winning smooch in Cruel Intentions between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair. I’m gayer than Liberace on a polar-bear-skin rug and that still gives me the tingles. READ MORE

COLLEGE CANCELS CONNER HABIB’S SEX-EDUCATION LECTURE BECAUSE HE’S A PORN STAR

The sex-positive educator was all set to lead a presentation at Corning Community College — until higher-ups got wind of his involvement in the adult-film industry.

Posted by Josh Middleton on 3/26/2013 at 1:07PM | No Comments

This weekend, gay porn star Conner Habib came to William Way Community Center to lead “Beyond Our Bodies,” a sex-education workshop hosted by GALAEI. The afternoon included a thoughtful presentation about how to take sexual health beyond the bedroom and incorporate it into our daily lives. Habib, an Allentown native, was recently invited by a student group to lead a similar discussion at Corning Community College in upstate New York, but when high-ups got wind of his background in the adult-film industry, they told him to stay away.

An article on Queerty explains that Equal, the student group that invited Habib in the first place, was told by school president Katherine Douglas that the invitation was rescinded because she didn’t want gay rights and porn rights to be intertwined on her campus. Equal president Brandon Griewank was then encouraged to turned a blind eye to the situation, and asked not to go to the press. He didn’t listen. READ MORE

GAY PORN STAR CONNER HABIB LEADS DISCUSSION ON SEXUAL HEALTH

Habib's lecture will venture away from the normal wear-a-condom jargon to focus on sexual health beyond our bodies and the bedroom.

The Gay and Lesbian Latino AIDS Education Initiative (GALAEI), known locally for its brazen discussions about sexual health that embrace the inner kink monster in all of us, has invited gay porn star Conner Habib to host Beyond Our Bodies, a workshop that asks, “what would sexual health look like if we enacted it in our daily lives, in our emotional, mental and cultural spheres?” READ MORE

HEY, CHIRL!

Our new columnist, Twink St. Pine, solves your love conundrums.

Posted by Twink St. Pine on 3/22/2013 at 11:23AM | 2 Comments

I’ve fallen for a guy who’s bisexual, and I’m afraid I’ll lose him if I don’t let him sleep with women. Advice?

Chirl, when it comes to bisexuality I am with Woody Allen: Pick a side! It’s tough enough walking through Valanni worrying about who’s staring at your man, now you’re going to put yourself through it at Parc, too? An “open” relationship is one thing; competing against a dating pool with different plumbing is something else entirely. Hold your ground. If it’s meant to be, he’ll stick with the home team.

I’m a drag queen dating a fantastic guy, but he’s really butch, and I’m afraid if I tell him I do drag he won’t be sexually attracted to me anymore. Should I fess up? READ MORE

THE GRINDR NETWORK

It’s the sex app that gay men can’t help firing up. But can you really use Grindr for a different kind of hookup?

Posted by Brandon Baker on 3/15/2013 at 2:05PM | 2 Comments

IT IS WEEKS of witty rapport and loaded winky faces through Grindr chat bubbles before I am finally ready to meet my chosen stud. The app’s fast-food approach to sex generally leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but the glory of my Grindr guy’s tan and ripped body has now left me with, shall we say, an appetite.

I arrive in the suburbs fully prepared for a night of passion. Typical of the Grindr gestalt, I have thrown on the tightest fitted gray t-shirt I could find (you know the kind), then dabbed on my last few drops of Calvin Klein cologne. Done and done.

When my “date” opens the door and I give him the up-down, his self-described manly-man traits—including a chiseled chest you could sharpen knives on that I’d ogled in JPEG form—is, as is often the case in these situations, a tad … different. In this instance, a five-foot, lispy queen with a muffin top and a white-furred, red-sweater-wearing Yorkie at his feet. I don’t doubt his Arnold Schwarzenegger chest once existed, but that coffin was clearly nailed shut long before I showed up.

Of approximately 61,000 men on Grindr in Philadelphia, this is what I get? My libido deflates like a punctured balloon.

Two peppermint vodka concoctions and a bevy of Philadelphia insults later (he’s a former New Yorker who punctuates his criticisms with a quick, and unconvincing, “Not really, just kidding!”), we make our way from the kitchen into his lifeless living room. His precious royal-family-meets-Little Mermaid furniture makes me hesitant to sit down. Will he scream at me if I dare ruin it with the imprint of my butt cheeks?

So he sits at his desk, and I stand awkwardly, towering above him. We are two gay men, mid-conversation, now trying to figure out how to spend our time alone together. READ MORE

PHOTOS: OUTSPORTS’ SWIMSUIT ISSUE FOR GAY MEN

It's like the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, but for gay men and straight women.

Posted by Josh Middleton on 2/13/2013 at 10:08AM | No Comments

To balance the stampede of straight men and lesbians running to the newsstands to pick up Sports Illustrated‘s 2013 swimsuit issue, Outsports has put together its own babes-in-tight-things issue for gay men and, well, straight women. Their collection of photos includes “real athletes” who play “sports where one competes wearing only a swimsuit or something tight.”

Copyright rules limit me from posting any of Outsports’ selections, which include lean-and-mean swimmers Matt Targett and Eamon Sullivan, and buff mixed martial artist Georges St-Pierre, so I dug up the above image from Philly mag’s database of generic “safe” pics. I have no idea who he is, but woof!

Check out Outsports’ selections here.
