The REAL Wonder Woman on Sarah Palin: “America Should Be Very Afraid”

Wonder Woman Sarah PalinIn an interview this morning about her three-week run at an Atlantic City casino, I offhandedly asked “Wonder Woman” Lynda Carter how she felt about the media calling VP candidate Sarah Palin the “new Wonder Woman.” I wasn’t expecting her no-holds-barred response:

Don’t get me started. She’s the anti-Wonder Woman. She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness … that’s just not what Wonder Woman is about. Hillary Clinton is a lot more like Wonder Woman than Mrs. Palin. She did it all, didn’t she?

No one has the right to dictate, particularly in this country, to force your own personal views upon the populace — religious views. I think that is suppressive, oppressive, and anti-American. We are the loyal opposition. That’s the whole point of this country: freedom of speech, personal rights, personal freedom. Nor would Wonder Woman be the person to tell people how to live their lives. Worry about your own life! Worry about your own family! Don’t be telling me what I want to do with mine.

I like John McCain. But this woman — it’s anathema to me what she stands for. I think America should be very afraid. Very afraid. Separation of church and state is the one thing the creators of the Constitution did agree on — that it wasn’t to be a religious government. People should feel free to speak their minds about religion but not dictate it or put it into law.

What I don’t understand, honestly, is how anyone can even begin to say they know the mind of God. Who do they think they are? I think that’s ridiculous. I know what God is in my life. Now I am sure that she’s not all just that. But it’s enough to me. It’s enough for me to have a visceral reaction. And it makes me mad.

People need to speak up. Doesn’t mean that I’m godless. Doesn’t mean that I am a murderer. What I hate is this demonization of everybody but one position. You’re un-American because you’re against the war. It’s such bullshit. Fear. It’s really such a finite way of thinking about God to think that your measley little mind can know the mind of God. It’s a very little God that way. I think that God’s bigger. I don’t presume to know his mind. Or her mind.

Sadly Lynda, who was never more than a B rate actress, is now a jealous, bitter old woman whose 15 minutes in the spotlight were so long ago few remember!

  2. Sailor Says:

So let me get this straight. A 1970’s has been actress who only got her part because of T&A, who has only played a staring role in a made for TV comic book adaptation, is relevant to the political discourse some 30+ years later … how? And who cares?

  3. C A Wren Says:

    Palin Is An Unknown
Unless she opens up to the press and public I do not see how we can consider someone that we know less about then the bag boy at our local grocery store? This is a situation that could place her in the position as commander in chief of the United States Of America. During the primaries the media kept asking if America was ready for a woman president. Well after raking Hillary over the coals for months and months the answer was by the millions yes. Like all the candidates she ran the gauntlet, faced the public and the press and by the end of the primaries we knew most everything about all of them.
We know very little about Sarah Palin.
How can this even be considered!
Charley Gibson has been Granted an interview with strict guidelines… A Barbra Walters like interview. It has been said that he must first submit his questions to the McCain / Palin camp before he asks them.

  4. JuniperLea Says:

As an American citizen, Lynda Carter has the right to free speech. She speaks for me in this case. I’m very glad she used her celebrity to put this out. I have no celebrity, so I can say these things until I’m blue in the face an no one will hear me.

You go, Lynda! You have laid out many excellent points in a very intelligent manner, and I applaud you!

Palin is more like GW Bush than McCain so clearly appears to be. Voting lock step with the Bush administration 90% of the time IS NOT CHANGE! It’s more of the same. Our country cannot survive four more years of GW Bush’s failed policies, and that is what we will get if McCain becomes President of the United States.

  5. dan Says:

Who cares…you could ask any liberal entertainer and they would spew the same diatribe.

  6. Michael Perry Says:

She’s NOT a B-Rate actress or a has been…Lynda Carter is a goddess and she’s right-on in her response…stupid right wing assholes….Sarah Palin is a daemon they’ve employed in a desperate effort to get females to vote for McCain…..Gods help us all!!…

  7. bp Says:

It’s funny that all the Obamites are so worried about placing someone who isn’t qualified as the VP but have no problem and see no contradiction in proposing that the BoyBlunder become the President. Brilliant.

  8. poster36 Says:

Uh, she’s not the “REAL” Wonder Woman. She just played one on TV, a long time ago.

  9. Terry McGuire Says:

I’ll bet the “real” Wonder woman never saved a Baby. Did allow herself to be photographed/filmed topless. Didn’t return thousands of dollars to alaskans in oil royalties. Did fail in at least one marriage. Did not support a loved one who decided to keep her child; Did not ever give any of her time to help with special needs children; Did support a philandering president who abused scores of women. Didn’t give much of her own money to h elp others; Did support higher taxes on plebian Americans. Just guessing. Who’s the judgmental, intolerent one?

  10. JuniperLea Says:

You want to see brillian? Just look at who all the haters and name callers are commenting on this story. America, beware of those who want you to shut up! Beware! Beware of those who will try to paint you as stupid or insignificant in order to attempt to make it appear your thoughts mean nothing. Don’t give up free speech!

  11. ladster Says:

Sounds like she has the old Truth Dectector belt twisted in a bunch. Maybe she needs another spiritual trip to Father Martin’s.

  12. Sandy Says:

A lot of people want to stifle dissent when someone says what they don’t want to hear. No wonder Republicans keep doing so well. Apparently too many Americans are taking their freedoms for granted and want a change from having the right to free speech. Put McCain/Failin in the White House and you’ll be quite a bit closer to reaching that goal.

It’s scary that Republicans can dangle a shiny toy in front of America every election season and so many people STILL fall for it after jobs have gone offshore and mortgages are being foreclosed at higher rates than ever. Vote Republican and keep kissing your jobs and mortgages goodbye.

If you keep asking to be stepped on, you WILL be. The people doing the stepping have got theirs. They could give a damn about YOU except that you’re the puppet who marks the ballot for them.

  13. To JuniperLea Says:

“Beware of those who will try to paint you as stupid or insignificant in order to attempt to make it appear your thoughts mean nothing. ”

Isn’t that what YOU’RE trying to do here, JL?

Lesse, Carter won a beauty contest and then acted in a hokey T&A comic book TV show 30 years ago.

So now it’s OK that her own petty opinions on a particular matter should be National News fed to the rest of us?

OK, then. You should be forced to watch the rest of us scamper around in skimpy, flag-colored costumes for a few hours (with extra time given for Michael Moore’s effort). And don’t paint us as stupid or insignificant.

    Then we’ll call it even.

  14. Blood Says:

Pssst! Here is a tip. Lynda Carter was only ACTING like she was Wonder Woman. She’s not teh “real” Wonder Woman. You know, kind of like little kids dress up and pretend they are super heroes.

  15. Terry McGuire Says:

    I agree with JuniperLea:

Beware of those trying to shut up Sarah Palin. And beware of those who are trying to shyut her up or make her appear stupid.

And don’t allow the Lefties who support free speech for themselves but no one else to steal your civil rights

This is America. You National Socilaists who would have free speech only for those who parrot your ideas, you need to wake up and engage in productive dialogue.

They tried to shut Reagan up also. But they all showed up at his funeral to get their 10 minutes of fame.

  16. JuniperLea Says:

To Terry McGuire… No one is trying to shut Palin up… we’re all still waiting to hear her say something that was not written by GW Bush’s speech writer.

At no time in our country’s history have we had to wait so long to hear from a candidate for VP. What are they trying to hide?

Let her speak! We want to hear her speak!

  17. Jane Says:

“She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness …”

What an odd comment! Who has Gov. Palin judged? To whom has she dictated? Did she say her religion is superior to anyone else’s religion? Ms. Carter seems to be reading too many blogs and forgetting to verify what she reads.

  18. JuniperLea Says:

    Terry… do you have links/proof of your lies… erm… insult… erm… accusations?

You should step away from the Kool Aid… you are showing signs of poisonous levels… you are spewing lies. You need to offer some proof of what you say.

Obama has talked to a lot of media people, off the cuff. You don’t know what you are talking about.

  19. PDS Detector Says:

Wow. I had no idea Lynda Carter was such a bigot. Sad.

  20. Nobody Says:

Fascism is going to do very well in the United States. We might as well just get it over with already.

  21. Terry McGuire Says:

And I could say that we are waiting to hear Obama say something that was not written by the Old Boys’ Club speech Writers of Dukakis, Kerry, Clinton, and McGovern–if not Josef Stalin and Karl Marx. :)
Don’t you (Obama) dare talk about change and then parade the old failures who hate America but love our money. Dukakis and Kerry are the antitheses of change.

Let the News Media investigate the Corrupt Chicago South Side ties of Barrack. Let them investigate his ties to Fflon Tony Rezko and his shady house deal. Let them investigate Barrack’s racism–unequivocally demonstrated by his staying in a racist church for 20 years. Let them investigate Michele’s ties to a hospital which will not care for indigent citizens but takes insurance cases only. Let them investigate Obama’s pork barrel grants to this same hospital. Let them investigate his ties to his uncle who has led mobs in the harassment and murder of Christians by Moslems in Kenya. Let them examine his ties to his former music director at Trinity. What of his bizarre relationship with William Ayers and the Annenberg project. What about the persisent rumors of Obama’s bisexuality. the Media have gone after Sarah Palin without respite. On the ABC homepage on one day this week, I counted 8 anti McCain/Palin links and 1 neutral piece on Obama. MSNBC is just as bad. I at least am thankful that you are not trying to stifle the free speech of Conservatives. Many liberals are. And the MSM are solidly part of Obama’s propaganda machine. They are the Josef Goebbels of the Democrat Party.

  22. Carole Says:

They can all say what they want…they’re just mad because we’re gonna win!!! McCain & Palin are both for COUNTRY! Palin Power!!!!!!!!!

  23. Terry McGuire Says:

    Chosen,

Obama gets fairer treatment on FOX than any of the Conservative candidates get on any other network.

He’s got the rest of the MSM in his pocket.

Fox is not going after Obama or the poster child for plagiarism, Joe Biden, the way CBS, NBC, CBC, and ABC are going after Palin. Not to mention MSN and MSNBC.

    WHO IS GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN?
    1. She is involved in an abuse of power investigation.
    2. She lied about the Bridge to Nowhere.
    3. She lied about Senator Obama at the RNC.
    4. She led people to believe, including McCain, she sold her plane on Ebay.
    5. She insulted Hillary Clinton by calling her a wimp.
    6. She wanted to ban books.
    7. She is against women rights.

Not at all! I’m all for hearing from everyone! I’d really like to hear from Palin, you know, off the cuff without a teleprompter… like Obama has been doing for months now.

Show me one place here where I’ve tried to shut someone up? Just one place.

  27. Chosen One's Quotes Says:

Yeah, don’t forget Michell’s “reported” racial remarks, also. And I’m sure you were just as deeply concerned about Hillary and Bill’s racial, ethnic and sexist remarks that have also been reported too, (from MUCH more reliable sources).

    GET REAL, Wanker !!!!!!!

  28. PDS Detector Says:

    To Chosen,
What do you think of Obama’s comment that “if he had a magic button that he could push and exterminate every white person on the planet, he’d push it without hesitation”? See, anyone can make up lies and put words in the mouth of their opponents.

  29. JuniperLea Says:

Why have all my comments been scrubbed? What are you trying to hide?

  30. howardx Says:

    why are comments being deleted?

  31. Terry McGuire Says:

    Chosen,

The Medai used to be concerned with reporting truth not their political biases.

You having heard of none of them illustrates my point that the MSM are not giving Obama the same anal exam they are giving Palin.

Start with Google or another search engine. Most of the things I have mentioned are well known and are available on news sites which are more concerned with the truth than assailing a woman because she presents a threat to Obama.

I don’t think Obama would beat up a woman. But I don’t think he is comfortable with strong women.

  32. Tim Haas Says:

    @howardx:

No comments are being deleted. Our blog system keeps flagging and re-flagging certain comments for moderation (which causes them to disappear from the front end) even after they’ve been approved. It’s being looked into.

She would gladly go on any of the MSM that would treat a Pub as fairly as they treat a Dem.

Why does she want to go on a Liberal MSM interview to be condescended to and then vivisected afterward?

Her only hope is to take her message to the American people direct. This is also what Reagan had to do.

Even Leno and Letterman are piling on.

Used to be even the Dems had a sense of fair play.

Whoa - everyone is so angry - on BOTH sides. It seems to me that Lynda Carter had some nice things to say about McCain, if you actually read the article. Hearing what you want to hear, reading what you want to read, and not looking at both sides of the coin - way to go people! Learn how to learn, and stop listening to sound bytes on Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. Sound bytes mean nothing except whatever mood the producer wanted to create at that time. Regarding Sarah Palin, it would be nice to hear her do a DIFFERENT speech for once. I look forward to any debate between her and Joe Biden.

  39. Confused Says:

  43. Julianne Says:

To those who are blasting Lynda Carter: have you checked into Palin’s philosophy on separation of church and state? I’ve seen videos of speeches in which Palin strongly suggested the war in Iraq is a holy war, and Palin told the audience that a pipeline project was God’s plan and asked them to pray for it. A politician who presents specific ideas or plans as God’s will or God’s plan is going to be extremely divisive and dangerous to America. If McCain should win, I pray he stays healthy.

  44. PDS Detector Says:

    Paula,

Excitement about the VP debate. That could be a first in U.S. history. The VP debate could well decide the Presidency which would definitely be a first in U.S. history.

  45. Justin Says:

What’s up with people saying others are trying to shut Palin up? Who is doing that? If anything, people are trying to get Palin to speak and say something that isn’t vague, meaningless claptrap meant to appeal to an already existing base. Also, doesn’t anyone else think it’s sad that the McCain/Palin campaign has become more about Palin than McCain?

  49. Terry McGuire Says:

    Chose,

Republicans, not Dems, wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, Republicans, not Democrats spear-headed the Civil Rights legislation. The only former KKK member in the Senate is a Democrat.

Republicans have no problem with the sex or color of a candidtate.

We do have problems with a world-view of 1) Baby-killing, 2) blame America 1st, denying Americans energy to drive their cars and build their industry so that we can feed our families. we do have problems with Liberal nannyism that says we can’t eat as much food as we wand and drive our SUV’s (which I have seen Video of Obama getting out of), and keep our thermostats at 72 degrees which I know he does if he wants. We have problems with a man that says he wants to eliminate nuclear weapons in a dangerous world. And we have problems with a man that has so many terrorist supporters. I don’t want Obama, or Hillary, or Dukakis, or Feinstein in the whitehouse. But don’t make it racial. Hey did you read the good article that MLK’s niece wrote a month ago—About the fact that Martin Luther King Sr. and JR. were Republicans?

If there is one reason I dislike organized religion it is because it separates us. If we believe in, Do unto others, then we should all keep our negative and self rightous thoughts about who belives the best way to ourselves!!! Remember it’s Do unto others, not Do them in!!!

This Palin woman could very likely turn out to be our 45th President. It is in everyone’s best interest that she is examined closely and that she sit down with the press and answer questions about her policy stances and general outlook on the country and the issues facing all Americans.

The idea that a candidate for the office that is a heartbeat away from the highest office in the land is some sacred cow who is above criticism and beyond reproach is not only bizarre and unprecedented in American politics, it’s down right dangerous.

  57. JuniperLea Says:

You are so right, Paul! We need to hear her speak without a teleprompter… and the best place I can think of is at a debate. Why are there no debates scheduled as yet? There are less than 60 days left before the election, and there has not been a debate yet!

It is in all our best interest to hear her. I’m NOT trying to shut her up, as has been said here. I WANT to hear her… I want EVERYONE to hear her.

Cheerleaders are for sporting events… how can anyone cheer this candidate on based on one teleprompter speech that is being repeated over and over? She has yet to deviate from that speech in any appearances since. We need to hear from the real Sarah before anyone makes up their minds.

  62. Tom Says:

ponton…do you listen to how angry, judgemental and hateful you are about people that you don’t know.
Even though we may differ pholosophically I’ll still give you some advice…angry, hateful, profanity filled diatribes will never attract enough people to your philosophy to make your ‘dreams’ come true. It just drives normal people away in disgust.

  63. JuniperLea Says:

Terry… you are answering to a question about oranges with answers about apples: “I have already replied that Obama also has speech writers. The are the speech writers of Democrat has-beens: Kerry, Dukakis, Clinton, McGovern.”

I’m talking about TALKING to people, and to the press, without benefit of a teleprompter. Obama has done it, Biden has done it, and even McCain has done it? Why hasn’t Palin? Why is she still spewing the orginal speech in bits and pieces? Why hasn’t she been answering questions from the press?

  64. Jon Says:

Wow. I’m amazed at all the small-minded bigots posting replies to this article. People who, if given the chance, would most likely strip all women of their right to vote, negating the Palin issue entirely. A bunch of self-entitled white men trying desperately to hold on to the last vestiges of thinking long dead. Or, even worse, white women completely owned by their husbands, incapable of forming their own opinions. So, so sad.

Lynda Carter is more educated on the political state of this country than 90% of the people posting here. Her statements were fact-based, reacting only to what Palin herself has put out for the public to see.

This country (and much of this reply list) is full of scared, jealous, complacent little lambs who would rather hide behind antiquated racist, sexist, fear-mongering theology than think for themselves.

So sad that we share the same country. So sad that some people want to return to the dark ages. Thank goodness leadership will finally return to the hands of the party willing to move this country ahead, though.

    Brighter days are coming.

Visit factcheck.org like the post above mentioned. You’ll see all of Palin and McCain’s lies and distortions of the truth, too. Obama’s campaign hasn’t been perfect, but it hasn’t had nearly the deception of the Republican party. And when confronted by the deception, McCain hides being being a POW (that’s why he has so many houses!), and Palin tries to claim you’re being sexist. Whatever!

Go Lynda! I couldn’t agree with her more. And her points about knowing the mind of God is something that my 90 year old very Catholic grandmother — who refers to herself as the Loyal Opposition in regards to her a lot of her views vs The Church as a Whole has always said. Anyone who presumes to know better about God and wants to force that opinion on everyone always did get her hackles raised. And it’s awesome to see Lynda agrees.

Go Lynda. What happens in your private family life is only our own businessed, separation of Church and State should be paramount.

  69. KansasGirl Says:

I am starting to pity you poor libs.

  70. Jon Says:

    KansasGirl:

Not as much as we pity you…or JustABill or any of the other hyper-conservatives here.

    Educate yourself. Knowledge is power.

  71. Thr Truth Says:

It’s always nice when someone speaks truth to power- especially when that someone is Wonder Woman! You’d have to be raving mad to support his radical extremist for VP. It’s a shame that a moderate like John MCcain has sio capitulated to the nutty fringe of his party. I just wonder what’s to become of the Republican Party? It seems to be increasingly taken over by the lunatic right-wing, to an extent that can only bode ill for the party and for America. It’s heartbreaking that someone who stands up for separation of church and state gets called a “bigot” by people who clearly have no love for America or her ideals. The far right has always hated america and everything she represents. Thank God there’s Wonder Woman to save the day, and kick “Hardly Human” Palin to the curb!!

  72. Thr Truth Says:

As for the comments from the far-rightests here (Terry and Tom in particular)…you might want to listen to something other than Oxycontin Limbaugh for a change. Right-wingers hate this country- truly hate it. You seem to detest every liberty, every freedom to choose, every bit of social progress made in the last two centuries, and everything enshrined in the Constitution. You’d turn our Democracy into some theocratic fascist state where only your views would be permitted, and all others would be legislated into criminality. You hate everything that’s tolerant and free about this country- that’s clear. You’d toss the Constitution onto a flaming pyre, and run this country with a bible in one hand and a weapon in the other. You have no respect for freedom or progress. You’d turn this country back to the Dark Ages. i pray the republican Party has the good sense to relegate you back to the bitter angry fringes from whence you came.

  73. Lynda Lover Says:

“In her satin tights..Fighting for our rights..and the old red, white, & bluuuuuuue!!”

    YOU GO, LYNDA!!!!

  74. Ghirdietus Says:

I think the salient point that everyone is missing is whether or not Gov. Sarah Palin should be compared to Wonder Woman. I’ll be brief, because I know most of you won’t care, but as a fan and artist I’ve followed the fictitious adventures of Wonder Woman for over 30 years and have read back issues and reprints of the comics that date back to Wonder Woman’s creation in the 1940’s by William Moulton Marsten, who also created the systolic blood pressure test–one of the inventions that directly led to the invention of the polygraph. Marsten was a noted feminist and lived in a polyamorous relationship with two women, both of whom he modeled Wonder Woman’s ideology and appearance after. In the comics and in the shows Wonder Woman’s philosophy is far too liberal for there to be any justification for a comparison between Wonder Woman and Gov. Sarah Palin. In point of fact Wonder Woman is a pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, environmentally conscious, pagan who believes we have a sacred duty to protect and nurture all living creatures, while striving constantly to find non-violent solutions to our problems. I think if Wonder Woman were real both Gov. Sarah Palin and Wonder Woman herself would be insulted by the comparison. More to the point Lynda Carter, even thirty years later still has a very firm grasp on her character.

  75. paul Says:

“I am starting to pity you poor libs.”

I am starting to pity this entire country, for the ignorant, partisan lemmings who will give us this unqualified, unprepared, ill-informed person as our 45th President, after 72 year-old, 4 time cancer patient John McCain inevitably dies in office. There are dark days ahead for democracy and freedom if we elect four more years of Republican mis-rule.

  76. privatehand Says:

Ms. Carter is a class act. Super Palin is an opportunstic hypocrite.

  77. Velvet Says:

Lynda Carter is not using her celebrity for a cause. Lynda was touting her 3-week show and was asked. I never realized how smart, well spoken, and thoughtful she is and I applaud her for stating her opinions when she was asked for them. I agree with her as well. Bitter? Doesn’t sound like it — she is not a young person and is doing a nightclub act and has a solid marriage and children and much to be proud of in her life, including knowledge of what’s actually in the constitution. Granny Palin — PLEASE NOTE! Freedom of religion is in the Bill of Rights!!

  78. Whig Says:

excuse me, as a foreigner, let me ask Lynda Carter and those on this forum defending her?

Just when has Palin attempted to `dictate’ to anyone?

Just when has she `told people how to live their lives’?

When has she come out in favour of censorship and not for personal freedom?

I think these Dummycrats of yours need to get a grip.

  79. Margie Says:

We DO have the right to be scared of Sarah Palin. She is condecsending, and lacks the respect for people that have the ability to think on their own and make their own decisions. She won’t get too far with that attitude.

She mocked Obama’s community service. I have volunteered for years in community service. I am insulted.

She made fun of us lowlanders calling snowmobiles - snowmobiles. I assume Alaskans call them snowmachines. According to Webster’s Dictionary, snowmobile is the correct word.

It was not cute that she put that jet on eBay. Why didn’t she donate it to an organ transplant organization or search and rescue group??? Not cute at all, Palin.

How come she can’t be on her own? After all, did we give Senator Clinton, Governor Whitman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, or Geraldine Ferraro a blanket of protection?? Grow up, Palin.

I was a supporter of McCain until he chose Palin. How dumb does he think we are? Also, I find it reprehensible the way he treated his first wife. So did the Reagans and Edwin Meese.

Go home Palin. I’ve got a new flash for ya - you’re not fooling anyone.

  80. Philly Chit Chat Says:

I’m impressed that Lynda Carter feels this way, she is after all a Republican herself.

Good to know she can see the wolf in sheep’s clothing.

  81. Whig Says:

*She is condecsending, and lacks the respect for people that have the ability to think on their own and make their own decisions. She won’t get too far with that attitude.*

I think that describes the reaction of the Dumycrats / left-wing media with regard to the announcement of Palin’s candidacy.

*She mocked Obama’s community service. I have volunteered for years in community service. I am insulted.*

As I recall, she mocked nobama’s early career as a community *organizer* - after the Princess mocked her first for her experience as a mayor of a town of 9,000 people; she is, of course, the governor of a much larger state. and unlike “Barry”, she actually RUNS her state, while Nobama hands over his campaign to a `professional.’

  82. Nick Says:

I love Lynda Carter, and am seeing her perform tonite!! So, to all you nay-sayers, SUCK IT! SUCK IT HARD!!

  83. Scott Says:

Linda Carter obviously has bought the media distortions of Sarah Palin’s religious beliefs hook, line, and sinker. I think if she took a better look at what Palin has really said, she might have a different impression.

  84. M Says:

I don’t see why Linda Carter shouldn’t speak out if the media is calling Palin “Wonder Woman”.

And I agree with everything she says.

  85. Margie Says:

Whig - your remarks are really parochial. I am a registered Republican of many, many years. Also a lifelong member of the NRA.

You will not convince me that Palin is a good choice. When I vote for Obama, it is in reality a vote against McCain/Palin. I have to do it. She simply IS NOT QUALIFIED and even her local papers in Anchorage accuse her of stretching the truth.

Calling me a Dummycrat does not help your argument.

How come you didn’t comment on my remarks about the jet?

How come you did not comment on McCain’s first wife issue?

It seems when we get down to the nitty gritty, you gloss over the dirt and start name calling. Silly you!!

  86. warren kahn Says:

Now we have Pam Anderson, Lynda Carter, Matt Damon, Susan Sanandon. and Alec Baldwin all defenders of truth, justice and the american way.

Im waiting for the real experts to get involved like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britanny Spears. and Hulk Hogan to jump on the Obama bandwagon then we will know that America is saved.

  87. Whig Says:

    Margie, I didn’t call you a Dummycrat.

I didn’t see the remarks you made about Mccain’s first wife; where are they?

The jet? I don’t know what you’re referring to.

I’ll take it at your word that you’re a Rep and a member of the NRA - that’s all very well.

How do you think the values you may hold - like the right to keep and bear arms - will fare under a Obama / Biden regime? - An Obama government that may well have control of both houses of Congress, too.

LIke I said, I’m a foreigner; it’s no skin off my nose if Nobama takes control of your government.
It appears that in my country (Canada), the right party will be re-elected to power next month.

I think you should think very deeply about voting against McCain by voting for this prima donna Nobama.

But you’re free to ignore my advice.

  88. Margie Says:

Whig - you may be reading only what you really want to ’see’. My remarks about the jet and McCain’s first wife were in the same posting as those items you CHOSE to see, or not to see.

To be fully informed about the first Mrs. McCain, type ‘Carol McCain wikipedia’ into your browser.

To be fully informed about the Reagan’s view on this matter, type The Reagans and Carol McCain into your browser. (Nancy Reagan endorsed McCain, but she is not happy about it, but McCain is the candidate of the party. That is her and Ronnie’s policy).

Then you can type Edwin Meese and Carol McCain into your browser to find the info on who gave her a safe place to live after she was dumped.

Truth is, McCain is reportedly a lounge lizard with the ladies. Always has been. He even admits it himself in his book. I will not stand behind any public servant of mine that behaves like this, Republican or Democrat.

As for that Governor’s jet - I still say she should have donated it to an organization that could really use it. She put it on eBay, (Lookie what I can do!), but it did not sell. It was sold, at a loss, through a dealer.

As for, “I told them thanks, but no thanks”, well it appears that is a falsehood. Congress shot that bridge down one year before Palin was sworn in as Governor. Anchorage newspapers say, “She stretches the truth”.

When Charles Gibson asked her the pointed questions last night, one of her answers was, “You can see Russia from Alaska”. ?????

If McCain was 50 years old, I would say that Palin can do some on the job training. There is time. If she were to have to assume office now, we would be in serious trouble.

I was insulted when McCain chose Palin. Palin should have been insulted as well. I would like to get promotions and opportunities according to my abilities, not the fact that I am a woman.

I am not afraid of my gun ownership being affected by an Obama win. I am in a very rural area, and they would need to find me first before they could remove my firearms.

I remain - an Obama supporter.

  89. Bob Whitford Says:

I’m religious, and also a conservative who thinks that Lynda Carter is exactly correct. Government has no place getting involved in religion.

I don’t trust McCain. I don’t trust his judgment in picking this woman Palin. There were plenty of other qualified women to choose from. Condi Rice would have been an interesting choice, or Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

I haven’t decided yet between Barr or writing in Ron Paul; but both of them understand the importance of keeping religion out of government. I won’t be voting for McCain. This choice of a running mate he made makes a mockery of the office.

I’m new to posting on the internet, and find one other thing about these internet posters, some are really childish. I’m amazed at the ridiculous comments attacking Carter for simply stating her position.

  90. Lynda Lover! Says:

It’s been posted that Lynda’s just a T&A actress..Well, do you honestly think it was Palin’s brain that got her this nomination?? Please. Palin’s kinda hot. I’ll give you that. But when she spins around, she doesn’t turn into anything spectacular..just the same old same old. Palin does have an invisible plane though. Doesn’t she?

  91. Ms. Priss Says:

Have you been listening to the news? It is being reported by almost every newspaper that McCain is lying in his TV ads about Obama. I believe, the media, whom McCain calls his base, is being made to look stupid because they are not covering McCain/Palin truthfully. Although there are tons of footage of McCain lying and a written record of Governor Palin, they continue to lie, and the media has been afraid to say anything. Not anymore.

I heard Richard Wolfe say yesterday, the media was complicit is getting us into the Iraq war because, they were afraid to challenge the Bush administration. So, those of you that have been following the story of the media being bias toward McCain/Palin, let me respectfully ask that you do your own home work. You may be surprise at what you find.

Anyway, even Governor Palin said you shouldn’t complain about sexism, it’s not good for women’s issues. If we want to play with the big boys, we cannot act like little girls. It does not help our cause.

  92. Phillip Says:

I had to stop reading so sorry if it’s been said already… Americans should research the issues on their own rather than believing what they see on tv or hear on the radio… for those talking about the liberal celebrities.. Lynda Carter is evangelical Christian. If the Christians were more like her, this country wouldn’t be so divided. It’s kind of interesting that this country was founded in part by those seeking freedom of religion and now a small powerful group would like to force their views down our throats.

  93. Sean Says:

Palin’s just a shiny new car that everyone’s impressed with at the moment…flavor of the week. Once the newness wears off ,we’ll see that she’s no Wonder Woman. She was obviously picked to win over the Clinton supporters. Well, it certainly didn’t persuade Lynda to switch over. Did it?

    LYNDA CARTER FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  94. Carol Says:

Sorry women, I just have to say it, anyone watching Governor Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson, knows she is not ready to be vice president. As hard as she tried, she did not have a command of the facts. Even I know the Bush’s doctrine.

Women we have to stop being so emotional and think. We can’t vote for her on personally because this is not American Idol. This is our country. I would love to see a women as vice president/president but Govenor Plain is not the one.

Even if McCain/Pain get elected, they will be treated just like President Bush. The neocons will be banisihed them to the back and the only time you will see them is when they are called on to read a script.

Do some real homework for yourself. Ask yourself, are you better off today than you were 8 years ago?

  95. Ms. Priss Says:

I agree with you Bob Whitford, I hate the name calling. It’s just so childish and disrespectful. As adults, we should be able to disagree with about being disagreeable.

  96. Rational human being Says:

Thats the best assesment that I’ve yet heard of Caribou Barbie. You go Wonder Woman.

  97. Allison Says:

Who cares who Ms. Carter is or what she was? Who are YOU, bashing commenters?

Ms. Carter presents a logical and articulate assessment of the problems with Ms. Palin. I agree with Ms. Carter 100%.

  98. Morgan K Freeberg Says:

We have a need here to turn WW’s golden truth-lasso around on her. Central to her argument is that Gov. Palin wants to control how other people live. Source, please?

Take the Obama/Biden position on any issue…any issue at all…and within that position, there is a desire to define a class of person (usually rich people) and destroy everyone in that class, or at least hurt them. It may be veiled. But it’s always there. There’s always a Snidely Whiplash due for a come-uppins’. Always. I can’t even say the same thing about every old WW episode.

    So who’s really more controlling?

  99. Derrick Says:

I am more bothered by this discussion than by the article or by Sarah Palin. I like Sarah Palin, I like Linda Carter. I don’t understand why it is so okay to slash either — and so many here do on the basis of their womanhood. I’m glad a celebrity is willing to speak their mind with thoughtfulness. I am not offended nor do I feel the need to counterattack because I disagree. Sarah Palin is not a negative to her ticket in my mind. While undecided, I may vote the McCain-Palin ticket. What thoughtful people say interests me. The women bashers and fear-mongers are — at best — unfortunate and unpleasant noise.

  100. SK Says:

Wow, Lynda Carter’s comments certainly sound like classic Freudian projection– all the harshness and negativity she attributes to Palin certainly cannot be because of any actual action or statement Palin has made; Palin has not, to my knowledge, been a terrifyingly oppressive force in Alaska, has she? But listen to Carter’s tone. Her pose of nonjudgmentalism is refuted in every breath of this interview. I wonder if a competent psychiatrist would enable Ms. Carter to work through this.

  101. Buzzmuzzwelle Says:

How disappointing, another person in showbiz who I thought had some class. If full term abortion on demand
paid by the peoples money is what she supports. Well, I guess thats her choice. I’d just like to hear of one Pro-Choice citizen in this blessed country choose LIFE. Just once. God Bless.

  102. kbdabear Says:

Hey Lynda, 1975 called, they found your relevance

  103. Frank Morley Says:

Liberals, you keep on whining. That’s what you’re good at.

  104. Immolate Says:

Visceral reaction is right Carter. Unfortunately, it is also uninformed.

Palin has very strong beliefs on religion, abortion and a variety of other social issues. And yet, in the most independent-minded state in the union, she maintains a very high approval rating. Why do you think that is. Fortunately, it isn’t hard to find out.

Palin does not try to inflict her views upon those she governs. She has consistently focused on the issues that are most important to all Alaskans, while showing no patience or tolerance for partisan bickering. She has not embraced the red meat issues for Republicans in Alaska. She has, in fact, spent more time deconstructing the harmful network of quid-pro-quo backscratching that her party has carefully built over the last fifty years. If you don’t believe me, read what the Democrats in Alaska have to say about her.

There are things in America that matter to almost all of us, like jobs to put food on our tables and all of the good things that a healthy economy provide. Energy is vital, as is education and healthcare and a government that does what it needs to do and lets us take care of the business that properly belongs to us. That is what Palin say she will do. It is what she has done in Alaska. She has a record of doing what she says. On those few occasions where she has changed her mind, it has consistently been to the betterment of those she serves. She is not perfect, but she strives to do the right thing.

Carter’s rant is the rote memorization of a laundry list of misrepresentations that are promoted to fool the easily fooled. If you just want to hate Palin, go ahead. Just don’t beclown yourself by proving to the rest of the world that you’re too intellectually lazy to dig past the surface of whatever partisan news source you choose to think for you.

  105. Final Word Says:

JuniperLea: “Why are there no debates scheduled as yet? There are less than 60 days left before the election, and there has not been a debate yet!”

I’m sure you have long since moved on to hijaal some other thread with your hysterical rants, but there have been 3 Presidential debates and one VP debate scheduled for a long time now.

    Get a clue.

  106. CarterBelongsInThe70s Says:

“Hey Lynda, 1975 called, they found your relevance” rotflmao - Great!

Besides - that face lift has cut off her air intake…tryibg to sound young and relivant is one thing, to atytack a total stranger whom the party crowd elites have never met anyone similar is another thing, but trying anything to grab some headline attention just is simply sad. Notice the ‘we are on the same pgae’ wink wink to the reporter..’Hillary Clinton is a lot more like Wonder Woman than Mrs. Palin. She did it all, didn’t she?’ speaks volumes.

  107. cowgirl Says:

Another unedumacated Hollywood has been. The Separation of Church and State does not exist in the Consitution. The First Amendment protects the freedom of religion and stops the FEDERAL government from establishing a religion. Period. End of Discussion. The misued phrase “Separation of Church and State” was used in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson while he was President - 1802. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The Constitution was written and drafted in 1787 - 11 years after Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson was not at the Constitutional Congress and HAD NOTHING to do with writing the Consitution. He was the American Ambassador to France and was in France at the time of the writing and drafting of the Constitution. Again, I repeat. Thomas Jefferson did not write any part of the Constitution and the misused phrase “Separation of Church and State” was in a letter he wrote 15 years after the drafting of the Constitution. Please Wonderdumb WOmen - like the rest of the NOW group - National Organization of Whiners - get it right. YOu sound stupid.

  108. bpower Says:

GOVERNOR Palin is the REAL WONDER WOMAN. She is the most refreshing candidate to come down the pike in YEARS. I commend her for having to sit through ABC’s interrogation, while OBAMA’s interview were fluff questions about HIP HOP.

LYNDA, you are falling for the hoodwinking and bamboozling of the American public.

    DEMOCRAT FOR MCCAIN/PALIN

  109. kix Says:

    More left coast trash …

  110. Erin Says:

I’ve been following Palin’s career for a while now. She has gone out of her way to not inject her personal social views in her politics (UNLIKE MIZZZZ CLINTON). Instead, Palin has focused on cutting out the fat in govt and getting the gears in motion for America’s energy independence. Who the hell can argue with that?

All these stupid lib celebutards seem to be getting all their talking points from one source. Could it be the Daily Kos? No matter… the more they talk, the higher McPalin’s ratings go. They’re certainly not helping the terrorist-enabler’s chances at becoming president with this kind of garbage.

  111. Tom Says:

Funny. Hateful, arrogant speech against a woman who has never done a hateful thing in her life. Such utter hyposcrisy. Telling us that it’s not her, but Palin, that is telling us how to live our lives. I guess Wonder Woman doesn’t believe in free speech unless it agrees with her hateful suppressive speech.

  112. yarrrrr Says:

Lynda Carter has no idea who Sarah Palin is…

Palin ‘governed from the center,’ went after big oil
    http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-09-11-palin-cover_N.htm

  113. It's Me! Says:

She definitely gets her news from the dailyKos and Huffpo!

  114. Julianna Murphy Says:

First off, I want to say I’m an Obama/Biden supporter. But I’m really disgusted by the way the media is trying to vilify Sarah Palin as a religious extremist. Senator Obama wants to bring us all together, both liberal and conservative, religious and secular. And the first way to do that is to really understand where people are coming from. I don’t agree with Sarah Palin on any issues but if people would do their research they’d realize she NEVER said she knows God’s will. Anyone that has actually watched Palin’s prayer should be able to understand that she was praying that we ARE doing God’s will by going into Iraq. I also don’t necessarily think she’s a DANGEROUS woman. I see no evidence that she’s actually imposed her personal beliefs about creationism, abortion, or faith in general on the people of Alaska. The Democrats need to become more comfortable with people of faith and not automatically label them as extremist nutjobs. One of the things that drew me to Senator Obama was HIS faith.

  115. Captain America Says:

I know. I know. Gov. Palin should be on television massacring as a super hero flashing her well shaped legs, bosom, and rear. Then, she would be a super hero, right Ms. Carter?

From all the feminists I’ve seen, including Senator Clinton, I would not care to see them in the Wonder Woman costume. Although I hear that Mad Albright can leg press 350 lbs., now that’s exciting.

  116. LibsSuck Says:

Hitler was a community organizer. FDR was a governor.

  117. Rae Says:

Ms. Carter has not bothered to learn that with the great priviledge we have for freedom of speech comes the responsibility of speaking the truth.

  118. John Cook Says:

Hillary vs. Sarah? let me see on one hand you have a woman who was married to a Governor then a President then, used his coatails to get a senator seat. on the other hand you have a woman who put herself through college, worked a fishing business, had more then one child, then joined the PTA, then City council, then was elected mayor. Then she fought corruption on the state oil board and resigned on principle and forced the state attorney general to resign and pay a fine. Then she went up against the entrenched good ole boy Govenor and took his seat. And has an 80% approval rating. I have a question which one is the true feminist. Which one did it on her own. Not by who she married. Sarah Palin is now shaking up the entrenched feminists. And they don’t like it.

Remember the old guard feminists. The ones who turn a blind eye to womens plight in the muslim world. The same feminists who accepted the abuse of women by a sitting president and did nothing but attack them. That type of feminism is dying and good riddance. Go Sarah!

  119. Howard Says:

    Compare and contrast:

Sarah Palin stood up to corruption in her own party. Lynda Carter stood silent for years while her husband was involved with the infamous BCCI Bank and was business partners with the ultra-corrupt Clark Clifford.

Both started out using their looks. Lynda never did anything else, Sarah moved on.

  120. Final Word Says:

“It’s really such a finite way of thinking about God to think that your measley little mind can know the mind of God.”

Of course, Gov Palin said in her Charlie Gibson interview, “I would never presume to know the will of God, Charlie”. I’m sure Lynda’s response would be she’s lying… That’s the problem with uninformed opinions - they are uninformed.

  121. Dr Dean Says:

Carter says: “What I don’t understand, honestly, is how anyone can even begin to say they know the mind of God. ”

Lie. Out and out lie. Palin never pretended to know the mind of God. You are making things out of an irrational fear of this woman. Read her actual real words, not the fear mongering lies placed into your head.

Gibson omitted the words “pray for” in a lame attempt to change what she said to indicate that she believed she knew the mind of God and Carter and others fell for it.

Palin’s words - exact words: “Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

Palin is praying/hoping that what we are doing is in accordance with God’s plan. She is not saying she knows God’s plan, God’s mind or anything of the sort.

Lincoln expressed the same concerns. He was responding to a clergyman who was conceitedly trying to say that God was on our side:

“‘I am not at all concerned about that,’ replied Mr. Lincoln, ‘for I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord’s side.’”

Again, Palin’s words: “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

  122. Final Word Says:

“I think America should be very afraid. Very afraid.”

And conservatives are the fear mongers?

  123. andreaj Says:

It’s obvious that she doesn’t know anything about Sarah Palin. She’s spouting far left liberal talking points. When will these celebrities (although her star is out) figure it out–we don’t care what they think. On the other hand, maybe they are contributing to the backlash.

An independent who is for McCain/Palin and the media (and Lynda Carter) helped the decision along. Not to mention their politics helped.

  124. Final Word Says:

Good post Dr Dean and to the point. Gibson and his producers did a hatchet job on the interview. Mark Levin has a transcript with the ommitted text highlighted.

    Here is another example.

“GIBSON: So what do you do about a nuclear Iran?

“PALIN: We have got to make sure that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them. So we have got to put the pressure on Iran and we have got to count on our allies to help us, diplomatic pressure. ”

The phrase at the end “and we have got to count on our allies to help us, diplomatic pressure” were deleted so that the US continues to look like a rogue country acting on its own. Disgraceful.

Thank God the New Media is watching. The MSM can no longer get away with this crap.

  125. ate mely Says:

Lynda Carter just play Wonder Woman on tv!
Sarah Palin is the real Wonder Woman! Courageous to bring to life five babies. The last one with an extra chromosome. 90% of today’s women aborted those babies. 90 out of 100 women kill their offspring after diagnosis of Down Syndrome by amniocentesis around the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. Courage of faith and conviction of the sanctity of life!
This election is all about the Womb!

  126. ggg Says:

“Unless she opens up to the press and public I do not see how we can consider someone that we know less about then the bag boy at our local grocery store?”

    Then that leaves out Obama.

Leftist are almost genetically programmed to be irrational. This is simple hysteria and base fear without thought.

  127. wally Says:

Go Hollywood… keep talking and bring our side some more votes… Wonder Woman is HOT… What a poor excuse for an actress.

  128. craig Says:

This visceral reaction to Palin is down right wierd. Here Carter is saying she’s a religious extremist. Does she think it’s better to go to a mega-church for 20 years with a racist preacher who supports Farakahn? You hear these rants and you just think “What the …?”

McCain is consistently 2-3pts ahead in the polls. And it coincides with all these democrats piling on McCain’s vp with adolescent fierocity. Bill Clinton and Obama have both played the god-fearing christian thing. Now the center has the unavoidable conclusion that they’re hypocrites. Only the american left is dumb enough to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like this.

  129. Paling Power Says:

Lynda, 70’s comic book stars should not venture into politics or theology. Of course Sarah Palin is a cartoon conservative to you; you’ve been a cartoon yourself since before Jimmy Carter nearly destroyed the nation. And of course the idea of God is too large for you to contemplate; you’ve been carrying around a lasso and wearing red knee-high boots for decades.

I guess you must have missed the interview where Palin said she would not presume to know the mind of God. Judgemental? Sure, you are. But worse. You’re judging a cartoon, a lie, some ridiculous misconception you made up to justify your bigotry, not a real person.

I’m sure there are other women like me who grew up admiring you– or at least the character you once played– only to find you here now, bitter and cussing like a truck driver.

    What a shame.

Enjoy the bonus 3 seconds of fame that’s been added to the 15 mintues you had way back when. Hope it comforts you during the McCain/Palin years.

  130. Ben Says:

I hate to break it to Lynda Carter, but Wonder Woman was a ficticious character. It’s sad when someone who has never accomplished more than playing a comic book character feels the need to lash out at someone who has actually accomplished something in the real world. Lynda Carter has never even made a big splash in her realm of acting outside the campy 70’s character she played. It is easy to see why she is apparently on the Obama Kool Aid - She really has no substance.

  131. jukin Says:

Palin scares the living crap out of the left. I guess to be a real feminist you have to aborted a few babies and ruined the lives of the women that your husband raped.

Mighty skewed if you ask me.

  132. Gina Says:

Lynda, regardless of her B status, is clueless. She has been spending too much time on the Daily Kos. If you look at Palin’s record, she has governed as a libertarian apart from her personal religious views, not pursuing a social conservative agenda in office. She has been too busy doing things like cleaning up corruption and taking on big oil.

So if we cannot even elect a person anymore if they are religious, what is our democracy coming to? What if Palin were Jewish or some other religion? Would that automatically disqualify her? Anti-Christian bigotry is alive and well.

  133. Sean Says:

In regards to Ms. Carter’s comments, I care about them as much as I care about getting her canceled “Wonder Woman” series on DVD. If I ever found them in a free bin, I might pick them up and give them a look. I feel that way about her comments.

Ms. Carter needs to go back to making guest appearances and movies of the week and leave the politics to those that read up on it. Most of Hollywood would fall under this.

  134. SusanfromPA Says:

For Lynda Carter to be upset that the media dubbed Palin “Wonder Woman” reveals the sad fact that Lynda Carter has never moved on past the silly 1970’s TV Character she played. These are not the people we should be focusing on to give us voting opinions.
I hope Ms. Carter is able to take a look at herself and move on in her life.

  135. PinUpGrrrl Says:

Well, I am just soooo delighted that Matt Damon, Ebert, Pam Anderson, Pink, and now Lynda Carter have all been able to get into the “be very afraid” spotlight against the Governor of Alaska. Let’s pay close attention to the entertainers of the world, and not a lick of attention to the people of Alaska who have given their Governor an 80% approval rating because she DOES listen to them, and she DOES govern with their best interest in mind.

  136. Sheila Brydges Says:

Hillary Clinton is more of a Wonder Woman than Sarah Palin? Hillary Clinton got where she is politically due to riding on the coat tails of her husband, while Sarah Palin got where she is all on her own. I’m shocked at the level of sexism from ese dimwits who play dress-up for a living. But why should I be? The entertainment industry is notoriously sexist as evidenced by the fact that What’s her name who played Wonder Woman only ever got a job because she was willing to run around in tights and looked good in them. Clearly it wasn’t her acting. Also very ironic how they judge Christians and Republicans, yet say Sarah Palin is judging them. Has anyone heard Sarah Palin judge anyone? I think wonder woman should look up the word “hypocrisy” in the dictionary.

  137. Jen06 Says:

“We know very little about Sarah Palin. How can this even be considered!”

Well, we are learning and considering that she has been on the national scene for about 2 weeks we’re not doing too badly. We’d do even better if the MSM would stop attacking her and her family at every turn and actually do their job. Considering that BHO has been campaigning for more than a year and half now, what have we really found out about him? Considering that he is up for the top spot - we know damn little about him other than what he has told us in his two books and some of that is questionable.

  138. Andy Says:

Beautiful. Keep attacking the 2nd spot on the ticket. Real smart.

  139. Jerry Bergs Says:

To Julianna Murphy - How can Obama or any Democrate bring this country together when the first thing they do in every election cycle in start a class war, poor against the rich. Than they need someone to hate, This year it’s big oil, last cycle it was the drug industry. Then of course there’s Bush. I would like to know the left’s definition of a lie. My dictionary says
“A false statement deliberatly presented as being true”. The key word is deliberatly. When ever someone brings up something you don’t agree with it’s a lie. I want to know your definition, it must be a dandy.

  140. Haimster Says:

Linda has obviously been reading the same phony emails as Matt Damon & Fran Dretcher.

If you have no idea who or what you’re talking about - why talk at all?

It’s very disappointing to see Linda spout off when she is so woefully ignorant.

  141. Jerry Bergs Says:

To Julianna Murphy - I only ment the first part to be for you. The last part for Liberals in general.

  142. braininahat Says:

I think Linda Carter gets her talking points from Whoopi.

Are these the fruits of the MSM’s smear campaign against Palin?

Linda, please stop embarrassing us of Latin descent with your stupidity. You’re an icon only because you were the first female Hispanic in a prominent role on TV — even if it was because of your T & A.

  143. Tina Says:

Sarah Palin hates wolves and bears. Keep her out of the white house if you give a damn about the environment.

  144. Lynda Schmynda Says:

I’m so afraid! I’m so very afraid!

AHHHHH! The Chrisitans are coming! The Christians are coming!

A Christian might be in the White House!

    That’s never happened before!

  145. Matthew Perry Says:

Palin is the anti- Lynda Carter. Lynda Carter told the world hot girls in bikinis were dumb as they look. Palin is showing the world what a woman can do. Hmm.. I wonder if Mrs. Clinton could even win a gubernatorial election in an entirely blue state…. Maybe if she was married to a previous governor, eh? No, probably not.

  147. cheryl b Says:

  148. cheryl b Says:

Liberals so afraid of God. Why is that?
Listen ! Is that wailing and the gnashing of teeth
that I hear? And Tina , honey you really need to educate yourself about Alaskan wildlife before you make such outragous statements. I would suspect that Govenor Palin does not hate bears and wolves.

She hates animals! She likes to kill them and lop off their little arms for profit. Hillary would never condone the killing of wolves and polar bears like Palin does. I was once for Palin now I am adamently against her she is a fraud and a sick disgusting animal killer. All she cares about her oil and profit for her state. A beautiful state that belongs to animals not corporate pigs. Where will it end with her at the reigns? She is worse than BUSH!

    Kill and Drill imPALIN!

  151. PB Says:

It is amazing that there are so many women who say they are feminists, and are stuck in a past generation. It is time for these old feminists to get connected with the real world and move into this century. Yes, we have come along way, but there are some feminists that are slowing down the progress.

Womens rights are not only about the right to abortions. I am pro-choice, but I am not pro-abortion. I think that women should have the right to choose, but it should be a responsible choice and not a form of birth control. Womens rights should be equal among all women, no matter their beliefs.

I also am finding that some women are using the right to choose as a means of demeaning others for their right to religious beliefs. Yes, some women choose their beliefs because of religion. When did that become a crime? Are they any less a woman?

What I have been seeing, is that sexism is running rampant within the same feminist groups that are against it. Apparently they only show outrage when the woman agrees with them. All other women be damned! They do not believe that a woman has a right to their freedom of choice, unless this choice mirrors theirs. It is time that a new feminist movement takes the lead and show the old fake feminists what the meaning of equal rights for all women really stands for.

Lynda Carter has a right to her beliefs, but they are seriously outdated. As long as women like this continue to keep their high heels on the necks of women that do not share all their beliefs, then women will continue to be cast aside.

Modern women, stand up for all your sisters! Show the world that we will not show favoritism and hatred amongst our own gender! Stop the demeaning of women by other women!

I’m sure you have some sort of a link supporting these revelations?

  153. Kay L Says:

I can’t believe people actually think they know nothing about Sarah Palin and yet Lynda Carter obviously has only read liberal blogs about her.

Sarah Palin actually DOES NOT believe that she can know the mind of God and DOES NOT consider herself the judge of others.

If anything, it is the Left who is judgmental and wants to tell everyone how they have to live their lives, what they can say and not say, what light bulbs they can and can’t use, and on and on.

I know more about Sarah Palin than anyone really knows about Obama. They’ve probed her like no one else before her!

Where are the stories about Obama’s development dealing in Chicago and the substandard housing it resulted in for poor people there.

Of any place in the US, Chicago has one of the most corrupt political systems. Had Sarah Palin challenged the Democratic party in Chicago for their “politics as usual” she would have ended up dead.

Obama has used that “politics as usual” system to get to where he is. He came out of nowhere and he is a nobody.

His modus operandi in an effort to gain positions of power has been to subvert the democratic process at every opportunity. If he were white, male and Republican, he would be handily excoriated.

But, no, he is deified–in the press no less! And Palin, who is just a simple citizen with no ambitions for power and grandeur, vilified.

She had the courage to change the things that she saw were obviously wrong and criminal in her local government.

This idea that politicians must possess all this “experience” to properly represent their fellow citizens is absurd. We now have perpetuated a “ruling class” that uses and demeans the people it was elected to represent.

Revolution is going to come from the center.

  154. Yehudit Says:

“……Weeks after taking office as Alaska’s governor in December 2006, Sarah Palin vetoed a bill that sought to ban benefits for the same-sex partners of state workers. It was unconstitutional, she said.
This year, she rebuffed religious conservatives who wanted her to add two abortion restriction measures to a special legislative session on oil and gas policy, even though she supported the bills. ……

in her 21 months as governor, Palin has taken few steps to advance culturally conservative causes. Instead, after she knocked off an incumbent amid an influence-peddling scandal linked to the oil industry, Palin pursued a populist agenda that toughened ethics rules and raised taxes on oil….”

  155. Tad Says:

    Lynda,

The idea of separation of church and state is not mentioned in the Constitution. It comes from a letter by Thomas Jefferson. Our charter document simply says you can’t establish a state religion. The only accurate “religious” criticism of her views as been her pro-life convictions. Find me a major religion where killing the unborn is applauded. Even if you’re a howling atheist, but know something about human biology, you should be trying to end the barbaric practice of abortion. It’s not a matter of imposing your religious views on others, it’s about creating a society where the most defenseless among us can be safe. Lynda, you say Palin isn’t ready to be vice president? You aren’t even ready for prime-time.

  156. texastickled Says:

Wow! She just fell from grace as “Wonder Woman”, now she’s “Liberal narrowminded woman”. I didn’t know Lynda Carter was a member of dailykos. (Who else would make comments like this without knowing real facts or WTH she’s talking about?) LOL

  157. Hillary Clinton aka Wonder Woman Says:

Look at all the fundies here hatin’ on the Clintons.

Here I was linked from a pro Clinton website. Or not.

  158. Mike Metroulas Says:

Oh my God! What an idiot! Palin isn’t “pushing” anything on anybody! She has merely expressed her opinion on some things. It looks like Carter doesn’t want Palin to be able to have certain views. Who is against freedom of thought here? Looks like Carter.

But hey, I guess she thinks prancing around in some cheesy floozy outfit with her breasts and ass hanging out is somehow a good thing for the soul.

    What a moron. Unbelievable.

  159. FreeThinkerNY Says:

Obama votes with his fellow Democrats 97% of the time. That’s change? He is a fraud who represents the same old party politics.

Carter is absolutely wrong in her views on Palin.

As the governor of Alaska, she has been a centrist.

She has absolutely not imposed her personal religious views on the people of Alaska.

That is according to Democrats in Alaska, as well as Republicans.

Even USA Today, which is a liberal leaning publication said the other day that Palin has governed as a centrist.

It is a lie that she is an extreme ideologue.

She said in her interview with Gibson that she has her views, but she does not believe in imposing them on others.

Carter is spouting the Big Lies coming out of the sexist Obama camp.

They are spreading one lie after the other in an effort to scare ignorant people like Carter.

Carter should do her homework and find out the facts before she opens her mouth and shows the world how uninformed she is.

  160. Hillary Says:

Oh yeah, Lynda is just exercising “free (rude) speech” ……. blah blah blah!………..:-)

Spare me the same ole PC BS.

  161. Jay Says:

“What I hate is this demonization of everybody but one position.”

And yet Ms. Carter is doing exactly that with her religious bigotry. I haven’t seen any evidence of Palin demonizing those who don’t share her religion nor did she ever try to impose her religious views on others either as Mayor or Governor.

Yeah, there was the story on Obama’s website about Palin supposedly trying to censor books at the library but since many of the books on the list that accompanied the story wouldn’t be published until several years later that was clearly a politically motivated libel.

  162. Emily Says:

When has Sarah Palin ever forced her views on anyone?!? If Lynda wants to run her mouth, she needs to be able to back it up with some PROOF.
It sounds to me like someone has got some major JEALOUSY issues!!!!

  163. Susan in a small town Says:

Oh my gosh, did this poor woman just embarrass herself beyond repair! From beginning of article through many of the comments, some people are deluding themselves. The MSM just keeps trying to push the liberal agenda and for good or ill the thinking people are realizing the truth and are not happy. Why do so many citizens feel an affinity with Governor Palin? Because she is open and forthright and they relate to her story and her accomplishments. Who relates to Lynda Carter……nobody of consequence.

  164. Mike Says:

But she presumes to know the mind of a woman she’s never met, and defines God even though she claims he can’t be defined–who’s she to say he’s not small? She should stick to doing bad voice-overs for the Elder Scrolls games.

  165. soninafghanistan'smom Says:

    Everyone,
I have enjoyed reading all the comments; you have all interjected meaningful and some meaningless “freedom of speech”. This is all about opinions, so here is mine:

Lynda Carter was very cool when I was a kid . She was awesome on tv, there are many actresses and actors out there who were, and she shouldn’t be bashed for her opinion. Although who really cares if she compares to Sarah Palin?? (tv superhero/heroine should never be brought to such a lowly level) and frankly I don’t believe that is really what all of your comments are about on here.

I believe that Palin is no choice for Vice President and certainly I agree (with Lynda and others) saying that we should be very scared of her in the Whitehouse -she has a self-righteous attitude- (kind of like Hitler) that she thinks the rest of Americans should follow. She is dictator-like. She is completely for NRA-which isn’t a bad thing-but advocating shooting wolves from helicopters (massacring them with semi automatic weapons)?? so that she and her “Alaskan hunter friends” can have more caribou to hunt/shoot with semi-automatic weapons? Somehow that seems very unsportsmanlike to me… Do we really want a gun-toting, wolf-killing, no womens rights, lying, skimming off the top, book banning, religious fear- mongering woman like this in the Whitehouse? If she has PMS, what if someone disagrees with her -maybe she would take her semi-automatic and shoot him/her! Granted that is pretty extreme but no more extreme than her belief on living back in the stone ages…

I believe in freedom of speech but to cross the lines and put religion and Pro life onto the political table is definitely not right. Every woman should have the right to choose, but if you choose pro life and believe that abstinence or “just saying NO” is the only method of birth control out there (Palin 1 month pregnant before her marriage, oh and her 17 year old daughter… guess she didn’t say NO either!-which makes her a hypocrite in my book) I don’t think abortion rights should be on the political ballot; however, I personally do not want to go back to the earlier decades when abortion was performed in back alleyways. We all live in the 21st century, we have a lot of conveniences, and benefit from a great deal of technological advances. Unemployment is at a ridiculous alltime high and we have seen a great many of our American jobs going overseas! We have a government that is out of control! We are fighting a war in a country that many of us do not believe we should be in! We have a world that is literally being destroyed by us! ( The evidence is highly conclusive that people and our abuse of our natural resources have been the catalyst to the global warming issue-thank you very much Mrs. Palin!) We should all be smarter than this! Don’t we have enough problems here without bringing religion and abortion into it? I believe that birth control is very important, and teaching kids about sex is important, and women should always have the right to choose-and not just in the case of rape or incest.
As a mom of a young USAF soldier stationed in Afghanistan, a wife of an enlisted USAF soldier for 20 years, living on very little money at times, I can tell you I am absolutley for supporting the military. I am also for making this world better than it is now-educationally speaking America is behind and below the learning curve, we definitely need improvements in that area! A good education and knowledge are important all over the globe. I am for global markets and trade but I am defintely for keeping our jobs here in the US! I want people who come here to live (foreigners) to speak our language! This is our country! I am for better pay, benefits, for our Vets, I am for healthcare, and presrciption drugs that are affordable for everyone. I am for government that actually helps it people ( I don’t care for the remark from McCain /Palin about “not standing in the people’s way, but being on our side”-to me that sounds like they really are not going to do anything to improve the situation, but cheer on the sidelines). Both Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin may plan to remove US troops from Iraq by a certain timetable - only to put them into other countries like Afghanistan and Iran…(and by the way just what is Mrs. Palin’s take on foreign policy? She doesn’t answer the question! She knows nothing!-maybe we will hear from her on this when the VP debate airs on the 2nd of October) I don’t want to see my son get killed because she winds up in the Whitehouse as our commander -in- chief, with no knowledge of foreign powers!

Don’t be fooled; Either party, when elected, will more than likely shake up the US congress/Washington DC; However, either party is going to need billions and billions of dollars to fight the war, to build nuclear powerplants, create jobs for Americans, find alternative energy methods to power our homes, and cars, and sadly our taxes will not be reduced. Nor will our global economy be automatically revamped. Our global warming problems will not be solved overnight…it is going to take a lot more time (more than 8-10 years),and by then the Polar bears who live off Alaska’s coast will be extinct-and does Mrs. Palin care?-probably not. It is also going to take a great deal of patience and effort from every American to straighten out this situation that we put ourselves in over four years ago. This scenario is going to take an educated, knowledgable, strong, but calm person to be our next President -who can and will be diplomatic when it calls for it and not a gun-toting Hitler-like hypocrite) to help get the job done.

She pretend Sarah has said something or acted some way and then refute this. That is called a strawman argument and this whole spiel is filled with them.

This is the typical liberal fear-mongering. I didn’t actually see ONE SINGLE fact on who Sarah actually is or what she stands for. I just saw liberal rumors.

  179. Banjo Says:

More knee-jerk reaction from a washed-up celebri-tard going hysterical because she actually believes the leftist’s talking points and takes them at face value without actually listening to Palin in context or the entirety of what she said. This is how the left operates in this country.

  180. Tickleddragon Says:

    If they’re scared, we’re good.

Oh, and btw…anyone using the word “fascist” in reference to Repubs, desperately needs a dictionary and a wake up call. If fascism was alive here in the states, people like you - who disagree with with the president on issues - wouldn’t be. Dictators kill the opposition, morons. 181. Gekkobear Says:

What’s this “mind of god” drivel?

Yeah, that’s pretty common. You trust the media, you get lied to.

She didn’t say the war was the will of god, she prayed that the Government would do the will of God (whatever that may be).

But she’s the judgmental one, and everyone who is misquoting her so they can take extra shots at what she didn’t say? They’re all sweetness and light.

  182. paulejb Says:

  183. Glynn Says:

Well, let’s give Lynda this, she has all the hysterical nonsensical and unproven talking points down. I don’t think she commented on one item of legitimate concern, except perhaps Sarah Palin’s inexperience, which also could have been said about many of our past presidents, including Abraham Lincoln. God save us, Sarah Palin is a Christian! Off with her head! I’ve seen the clip making the rounds with the prayer. It has been so vastly distorted and misquoted by people, it’s almost laughable. If it weren’t so predictable.

  184. Glynn Says:

Tickleddragon, you are exactly right about the term fascist. I have seen this so misused by the left, I am weary of it. They misuse it almost as much as they misuse neocon.

  185. blue steel Says:

    Carter is one to talk.

Her husband was at the heart of a giant financial mess.

I’ll take Palin any day over the Obama Micromanged worldview.

  186. Judy Says:

She is not the REAL Wonder Woman. The REAL Wonder Woman would not say such vile and hateful things. Typical Lib.

  187. Dano Says:

So Wonder Woman who despises those that tell her what to do is telling YOu what to do by not liking another Wonder Woman!!!

The hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds… Who is next Elizabeth Taylor, Bea Arthur, Susan Sarandon?

  188. Greg Mosher Says:

What really concerns me is that we know more about Sarah Palin over a period of 1 month then we do Barry H. Obaama. She is a canadate for VP while B.O. is a presidential canadate. Does this seem strange to any of you? You mention McCain could expire due to his skin cancer problems but remember this: Biden had a brain aneurism. According to B.O. he picked Biden to advise him on his weaknesses. Wake up people, this is not a dress rehersal. B.O. said in an add that McCain voted with Bush 92 percent of the time. This is false. Bush has no vote in the senate. By the time the vote moves out of the senate it is unanimous. So B.O’s vote leaves the same as McCain’s. The difference is 113 times B.O. voted PRESENT while McCain actually voted yes or no. Please seek the facts.

  189. Dano Says:

Why, why, why, Sarah Palin has MORE experience than the self-anointed one has.

Zerobama pals around with unrepentent terrorists who are proud to have killed American’s and wanted to do more killing and his wife “digs” Charlie Manson. On a board who lost 50 MILLION TAXPAYER DOLLARS in Chicago on fake get out the vote deals - aka community agitator. Who received sweetheart home loan deals from a CONVICTED FELON. Pals with RACIST preachers who despise whitey. A disciple of a communist who wrote a book dedicated to his hero Lucifer.

That is the real hope and change zerobama wants…. to communism

  190. Rebecca Says:

What in the world is this woman ranting about? When did Sarah Palin say she wanted to force her religious beliefs on anyone-much less suppress and be*cough*dictatorial? I can’t say I’ve thought about Linda Carter, long since unemployed actress from the 70’s, in a long long time but it’s sad to learn she’s so staggeringly ignorant and judgemental-exactly what she’s accused Palin of being. Hypocrite much?

  191. carter is irrelevant Says:

Linda Carter may need to go back to rehab for her chronic alcoholism since apparently she’s in a fog. Facts, Linda, read the FACTS. Hack reporter Charles Gibson truncated her remark and cut the tape where she objected to his misquote. Her quote was asking that we are on the right side of GOD. ASKING LINDA. And while you’re in rehab, try and bone up on history where several presidents invoked a PRAYER especially to the military. From Lincoln, to FDR who PRAYED FOR 6 MINUTES WITH THE CITIZENS, to Eisenhower, to KENNEDY saying “I believe that God has a plan”, Carter, Ford and Reagan. Stop masking your hatred for anybody not Leftist Liberal in a cloak of lies. Not only is Linda Carter irrelevant but so is the Natl Org for Women who only support LIBERAL women. Anybody else is mocked, discredited and unimportant. Just watch. America does NOT LIKE to vote for or support “people who don’t like us very much” and the election will school you phonies.

  192. David Says:

I agree with the last post. Lynda Carter obviously doesn’t know (or care) about the facts. I knew she was a liberal but I never knew she was to the derangement level.

I went to see her in concert in DC in May. Good thing I didn’t know she was this far gone because I wouldn’t have wasted my money.

  193. Divine truth Says:

There should be a law against these liberals opening up there big mouths. Hopefully when Palin’s in the white house, she’ll make a law against these people yapping there views. She’s tough enough to do it. That’s why she’s got my vote! They need to shut up.

  194. Fred Says:

Sane people aren’t going to be swayed by extreme statements comparing Governor Palin to Hitler. If you lefties got nothing else then you got nothing.

  195. Obama 08 Says:

Linda is right on! There is no way the country could be run by a woman who thinks dinasours were actually here 4000 years ago. Palin is a typical neocon who hunts more animals than she can use for food (Sometimes up to 40 animals in one hunt.), and she wants to destroy Alaska by drilling for oil in it.

We need change, and Obama will bring change that we need…..

  196. Greg Says:

Uh… someone should tell the reporter here that Wonder Woman is a COMIC BOOK CHARACTER - there is no REAL wonder woman.

Lynda is an ACTRESS (read: professional phoney) who _plays_ a part. She has a right to free speech true - but shouldn’t be given any more weight then any other ill-informed person.

Who the hell cares what she thinks?

People, go out and do your own research (don’t let the media or some actor tell you what to believe) and make up your own mind.

  197. Brian Says:

Yeah, that’s right you hypocritical right-wingers…keep thinking that Sarah Palin will save this country. You all couldn’t have been more wrong about George W. Bush and you’re wrong again. Anyone who voted for Bush shouldn’t be allowed to vote in this election. The state of this nation is all YOUR fault. Get a clue!!!

  198. Brian Says:

Hey Divine Truth — it’s “their” views, not “there”. But I guess you knew that, right? And if you’re in favor of government censoring people, then you and the rest of you a-holes would have been right at home in Nazi Germany or Communist Russia. It’s uneducated and zealous idiots like you that are responsible for this country being in such a mess.

  199. jennifer from pittsburgh Says:

I love it! I have a whole new respect for Lynda Carter for speaking some much needed truth. Palin is an unmitigated disaster. How McCain managed to pick a worse veep than Cheney is really mind boggling.

  200. Philly Chit Chat Says:

OK Lindsay Lohan came out with comments today. We should spend 200 comments on her comments.

  201. Bernard B Says:

Who is Sarah Palin? She’s not Wonder Woman, anymore than McCain is Batman or Obama is Spider-Man. But she does act like Philippine President Gloria Arroyo-Macapagal, a real person is not fit to lead a free country.

  202. Bernard B Says:

BTW, the campaigners should stop making these ridiculous nicknames for their candidates. Stick with the issues and leave the pop culture behind.

  203. tk in Florida Says:

Who really gives a flip what celebs think. I certainly am not making my decision because some celebs (I don’t care WHO they are) give there indorsement.
    Wake up America!

  204. Joe Meaty Says:

Linda Carter’s main premise is self-referentially absurd, in other words contradictory, and thus unworthy of consideration.

How so? Carter says, “No one has the right to dictate, particularly in this country, to force your own personal views upon the populace — religious views.”

When she says this she is “dictating” her “own personal views upon the populace.”

The point? If it is wrong for Palin, it is also wrong for Carter.

  205. Leslie Mancrush Says:

Wow, all this information from such informed sources.

Pamela Anderson and Lyndsey Lohan had some well thought out comments and now a GILF who sells contact lenses?

The problem is is that these morons get a voice. They have not served in any military engagements, their kids don’t suffer no child left behind.

Palin is real, Wonder woman WAS a TV character.

If these are friends of the Dems, they don’t need enemies.

  206. Helen Says:

If Sarah Palin is such a tough pit bull then why is she hiding from the media? She is applying to be Vice President of the USA and the media has to be allowed to interview her for the job. Why isn’t she on any of the MSM shows besides Gibson? The election is in seven weeks and we still do not know if she is qualified for the job. What is going on here? Where is she?

  207. cAROL Says:

Give me a break Lynda Carter, who are you anyway. There are women who have so much energy and are very organized that can accomplish many things.
People are jealous and Lynda Carter is one of them. She never imposed her religious views on anyone. The talk we saw her give was at a church meetimng. What’s wrong with that! Hillary Clinton was not the woman that spoke for me. Maybe for the news media elite and the hollywood elite, but not for most ordinary people. Sarah Palin is wonderfurl, she has charisma, a love of country and truly cares about people not her political career.
Get alife Lynda Carter, you are not really a wonder woman, just your imagination.

  208. RC Says:

Why is it that every time someone disagrees, even slightly, with a conservative they’re labeled a liberal whacko? When did liberal become a bad word? She said in the piece she liked John McCain and disagrees with the ideas that Palin has put out so far. But it seems the conservative response is to write that opinion off right away. Oh she’s just the typical liberal celebrity. Even if she is, what makes her opinion less valid than a stereotypical rich conservative businessman? Or a woman? Or a poor one? Or some other person on the street? Just as she pointed out, what’s disturbing and anti-American is the insane level of intolerance produced from the extreme right. At the very least, it seems the most intolerant are the most vocal. It seems always to be this idea that if your views don’t match mine then you’re wrong, anti-American and godless. Since when did the religious right lay claim to God and all that is holy? This country was founded on people seeking freedom to practice their beliefs, in particular religious freedom. So why is it that the people who seek to limit religious and political freedom claim to be the most American?

  209. kathy bauer Says:

When will the Mc Cain and Palin debate the real issues and speak to the American people regarding their plans to get us back on the right track? I am so tired of the LIES that those two have been spreading - and they think it is OK to do this - All of this religious crap and the bottom line is Mc Cain is an adulterer whose wife waited for him when he was a POW but she became disfigured in an accident while he was away and was no longer a “looker” when he returned from Nam - soon as he came back, he started “running around” and shortly after his divorce, he married Miss $$$$$$. And Palin thinks we should teach abstinence but cannot sell it to her own daughter yet she thinks she can sell it to America. She opposes sex ed in school but wants to teach creationism in those same schools. SHAME on MC CAIN and PALIN for focusing the election on lies and distortions instead of the real issues - the economy, women’s rights, health insurance for all americans, homeland security, the growing deficit, etc., etc.
All we hear from Mc Cain and Palin are snide comments - Maybe that is because they would find it too difficult to defend their positions??? Mc Cain talks about tax cuts for middle America but does not say he will make sure the tax breaks for the super wealthy are eliminated. So how will he pay for these tax cuts for middle America while still assuring the super rich that their tax loopholes will continue. NO WAY - he will have to cut something - maybe Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security? At least Obama proposes tax breaks to 95% of Americans and removal of the tax breaks for the super rich. He is not proposing reductions in Medicare, Medicaid and/or Social Security. Obama/Biden have a fundamentally sound plan. Mc Cain/Palin also have a plan but theirs is not in the best interest of America - it is in the best interest of the SUPER RICH! Let’s make sure OBAMA/BIDEN win this election and give the Democrats a chance to make positive changes for the majority of Americans. Vote OBAMA/BIDEN to make America strong again in our own eyes and in the eyes of the world!!!!!

  210. Dutch269 Says:

I’ll tell you what lefties, we will keep our religion to ourselves and not shove it down your throats.

If you can do the same with your govt shoving thier ideas down ours.

    Ok?

  211. monkeywhere Says:

Dutch: do you mean you’ll stop telling me what I can do in my bedroom, hospital room, doctor’s office, and in my body? Cuz’ if you’re willing to get your government out of my face, I’ll let some of my road-building, public-school providing, FDIC-insuring government out of your face too.

  212. Bryan Fahrbach Says:

Lynda Carter is right on! She is still Wonderful! In the words of the also fabulous Teresa Heinz Kerry, religious busybodies can SHOVE IT! Keep it in the church, people, not in my face.

  213. An elitist who uses 75 cent words Says:

Regardless of what you may think of Ms. Carter or her comments, Sarah Palin’s recent interviews with Katie Couric say it all. Sarah’s responses were as mindless as those of Dubya’s when first running for the Presidency in 2002 (and since then). Let’s face it. Without a teleprompter the woman doesn’t sound all that bright. Allowing a certain amount of graciousness - and giving her (some) leeway for being new on the national scene - we still have to ask, “Haven’t we learned during the past 8 years that it DOES take intelligence to hold this office?”

Looking back on the appeal of Dubya in 2003, you’ve got to ask yourself if you really want your drinking buddy making decisions that will impact the life of you and your family. (I know I don’t.) In hindsight, this “just like us” choice for president was a real mistake. Let’s not duplicate it.

Also, isn’t it ironic that McCain’s own background qualifies him as an “elitist” (5 homes, etc. ) yet his campaign remains focused on painting Obama with that same moniker as if it were something negative.

[Fear Elitism! Who wants an educated electorate?]

  214. Wonder Woman Says:

For those of you discrediting Lynda’s comments and relegating her as a B-actress, I’d like to know what you have accomplished in your life? You may think she played a hokey comic book character, but she IS an icon to many of us who felt “marginalized” by right-wing bigots who are so much closer to becoming Christian terrorists.
Sarah Palin is no more worse than Al Qaida! The factors that are scary about her is the fact that she is backed by the “still great” American dollar and her ignorance reflects the fundamental reasons why religious fundamentalism SHOULD NOT BE a part of the American governing body.

  215. cjh Says:

Linda Carter, you were awesome as Wonder Woman, and your even more awesome now. I would not have guessed that possible, but there it is. Thanks!

  216. john in denver Says:

thank you, lynda carter! you are amazing!

  217. rev Says:

God Bless Lynda Carter! She speaks her mind and shares the opinion of most of us when she says that the McCain/Palin ticket is a fearsome thing. I’ve enjoyed living my life the way I want to - not the way some religious nuts think I should. I’m very spiritual, but not willing to change my views of God for theirs. The Republicans have been disgusting and disgraceful in their handling of America, the economy, the war, corruption, tax breaks for the rich, their anti-middle-class stance and especially their demonizing of anyone who points out that ‘The Emperor is Naked.’ Even their ‘god,’ Ronald Regan, said this: “I didn’t leave the Republican Party. The Party left me.” The current state of Republicanism in America is a greedy, shallow, rancid, corrupt and pathetic shadow of its’ former self. Time to take it out and put it out of our misery!
