Dinner at James - After a very pleasant and expensive three course meal + wine, we were rudely ejected from our four person table because "it's Saturday night and we're busy." I had guests from out of town, and I was absolutely mortified by this gross treatment. Needless to say, I will never go back and intend to tell all of my friends.

Le Bec Fin has my vote each and every year as one of this country's best restaurants! I have eaten in the top 10 restaurants in Paris as well as in Monte Carlo, and Le Bec Fin is right up there with them. Le Bec Fin definitely deserves to be in your Top 10 List.

the best restaurant experience i ever had in philadelphia was le bec fin because it was my 17 year old son who took me there for my birthday with his first pay check - the meal cost him his entire paycheck. i know even today, it was worth every penny. the food was great, the experience unique and something every mother and son should share at least once in their life time.

I strongly agree, George Perrier is clearly one of the most talented chefs we have. I love his food and his life's dedication to serving excellent food! He totally put Philly on the map before the food craze here. He built it .......and the rest came. To ignore his impact on our region would be totally iniquitous.

Talula's Table is an amazing place to visit. We were lucky enough to experience the Tasting Menu at the farm table and Brian is an extraordinarily talented chef. However, EVERYONE at Talula's Table has a gift for making people welcome in the market and for preparing food with care and pride.

I totally agree with James. George Perrier should definitely be in the top ten. He is still an amazing chef and has put Philly on the map as far restaurants go.

I found the last list appaling in the clearly intended cavalier treatment of George Perrier. He is a master artist of one the great cuisines in the world and has set the highest bar possible for all other chefs in the city for more than a quarter of a century. Philly Magazine thrives on trendiness, and seems to enjoy low rating Chef Perrier to show how cool it is. This is wrong. Older masters should be accorded respect.

Meritage Philadelphia Restaurant should be in the top 50. It is one of the most relaxing dining rooms in the city. It is overlooked, and should be rewarded for its excellent service and consistently delicious seasonal menu.
