The New Way to Get Rich: Work for the City. The DN rounds up the top city salaries today, and there are some eyepoppers, including the medical examiner making $239,000, the chief technology officer making $209,000, and the library director making $192,500. [Daily News]

DROP Gold Rush Continues. Since the Mayor announced on August 3rd that he wants to deep-six the controversial DROP program, 542 city employees have signed up to cash in. How come even when Nutter does the right thing, it gets screwed up? [Inquirer]

Philly Budget Director Leaving for Federal Job. Steve Agostini will resign at the end of the month to take a position with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in Washington. Presumably they don’t have a DROP program, which should make their budget a little easier to balance. And then there’s the fact that they can print their own money. [Business Journal]

Lower Merion School District Paying Big Legal Fees. The Webcam-gate snooping case and the school redistricing case have already cost Lower Merion more than $2 million this year. Law firms benefitting are Morgan Lewis and Ballard Spahr. [Main Line Times]
