Actors Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald star in the remake of Footloose, which was screened privately for fans of Wired 96.5 and WXTU 92.7 at the Ritz East last night. The movie has lots of references and surprises that link it to the Kevin Bacon original. Hough is best known from her appearances on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, and her star is rising rapidly as she is scheduled to shoot Rock of Ages with Tom Cruise and Russell Brand later this year. I’m sure she’s a talented actress, but it doesn’t hurt to have a boyfriend like Ryan Seacrest advising you along the way. Footloose opens October 14th.

And Rock of Ages has already been filmed and is in post-production. Guess the reporter missed all the articles about the filming, and the live show fans were invited to attend as extras.

I didn’t mean to suggest that she wasn’t a great talent on her own, but how awesome to also have the guidance of someone else with such a great career. It’s always nice to have someone in your corner supporting you don’t you think?
