Jay-Z and Kanye Brought Watch the Throne to Philly

H.O.V.A. and Kanye Played a Sold-Out Wells Fargo Center. Last night Jay-Z and Kanye West brought their Watch the Throne tour to Philadelphia and played 36 songs in front of a sold-out crowd at the Well. A number of Eagles, including LeSean McCoy, Asante Samuel and Todd Herremans, and (former?) Phillie Jimmy Rollins were there to take in the show. Herremans even tweeted about Kanye’s “leather skirt” (it was a tunic). [Inquirer]

Flyers Hold on to Beat Buffalo. The Flyers chased Sabres goalie Ryan Miller from the game with three early goals and fought to hold onto a lead that proved to be just enough. They earned the two points with a 3-2 win and come back to Philly to host the Devils tonight. [The 700 Level]

Damaged Power Line Sparks Center City Explosion. A damaged power line is said to have sparked and ignited methane gas causing an underground explosion at 34th and Ludlow streets yesterday. The blast blew manhole covers up into the air, but no injuries or power outages have been reported. [Daily News]

Fake Facebook Profile Case to Proceed in Jersey. A police detective in Parsippany is being charged with fourth-degree identity theft for creating a fake Facebook account as her ex-boyfriend. The defense argued that the specific law doesn’t apply to electronic communication, but a judge has disagreed and allowed the Morristown case to continue. [FOX 29]

Temple Drops a Tough One to Ohio. For the third straight season, a loss to Ohio might cost the Owls come bowl selection night. Last night, Temple lost 35-31 when Ohio scored a touchdown with less than two minutes to play. [Philly.com]
