Local Rapper Tommy Hill Shot, Killed. Tommy Hill—the former head of R.A.M. Squad—was shot and killed outside of an East Mt. Airy bar on Friday. Hill had ties to Joey Merlino and was tried back in ’04 in a high-profile drug case. [FOX 29]

Penn State Gets Bid to TicketCity Bowl. The Penn State Nittany Lions are slated to take on Houston in the TicketCity Bowl on January 2nd. It looks as if Penn State was overlooked by at least two better bowl games because of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. [Penn Live]

Madonna to Play Super Bowl Halftime Show. Madonna has signed on to play the halftime show at the Super Bowl in February. The pop star is currently working on a new album and has a new movie—which she wrote, directed and produced—coming out just a few days after the game. [Inquirer]

Two Men Killed at Chesco House Party. Early Sunday morning police responded to a house party in Avondale. A fight had broken out and a man had been stabbed several times. He died and as police were searching the scene the found a second victim whose death has been ruled a homicide but the cause of death hasn’t been determined. [NBC Philadelphia]

Arsonist Set Car Fires in Wissinoming. Police are looking for an arsonist who set multiple car fires on two blocks in the Wissinoming area. Authorities say that a total of five cars within a few blocks were lit on fire early yesterday morning. [CBS 3]
