Giant Buys Up Genuardi’s in Philadelphia Area

Safeway is selling all of the Genuardi’s supermarkets in the Philadelphia area—24 in total. Giant is paying $106 million for 16 of the locations near Philly. Four of the remaining eight Genuardi’s locations still for sale are in Jersey. [Philadelphia Business Journal]
