Wildwood Ponders Beach Tags Referendum

Wildwood, New Jersey is the only Shore town other than Atlantic City that still offers free access to the beach. For the past few years, it seems that the local government in Wildwood has been threatening to put a price tag on beach badges like the rest of the Shore. Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. says the beaches will be free in 2011, but that city commissioners have discussed the idea of putting the decision in the hands of the people via a referendum. [Inquirer]
