HughE Dillon: Flyers Wives Fashion Show

Spouses sashay down the runway in Nicole Miller to benefit Comcast Spectacor Charities.

Last night’s first-ever Flyers Wives Fashion Show was a stylish evening of fun and excitement at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. Fourteen wives sashayed down the runway sporting Nicole Miller’s new clothing line, Artelier, from her Spring 2012 collection. Guests enjoyed a signature drink, the Orange Crush, and dined on sliders, chicken wings, chicken and beef burritos. Dessert was Pamcakes and a candy bar. Below: Flyers wives who weren’t even on the runway wore Nicole Miller. But Clancy Carle, Mandy Shelley, Kristen Laviolette, and Lisa Hanrahan told me they were ready for their catwalk debut.

The event was hosted by Chris and Lauren Pronger (right), and proceeds from the night went to Comcast Spectacor Charities. Here, Mary Ann Saleski, senior vice-president at Comcast Spectacor Charities (left) introduces Tanisha (center) who is a Steppingstone Scholar, which is one of the organizations that has benefited from the charity.

Below: Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren and wife Doreen. Holmgren has been the team’s general manager since 2006. He also played for the Flyers from 1976-1983 and coached the team from 1988-1992.

Below: George Rubin, vice chairman of PREIT, Mary Dougherty, owner of two Nicole Miller retail stores in Philadelphia and MKDA, Nyle Neumann and Erik Neumann. Mary and her companies were instrumental in creating this event, which more than 800 philanthropic guests attended.

Below: Beka and Jesse Rendell. Looking beautiful at five-months pregnant, Beka was the co-chair, along with Rakia Reynolds, of the Young Friends portion of the Flyers Wives Fashion Show. The admission was only $100, and the guests were allowed in an hour after the VIP guests, who paid $300. They were able to mingle on the main floor until show time, when they were seated in the balcony. Not bad.

Below: Latvian-born, Finnish Angelika Kallio is one of the most successful fashion models from Finland. She’s worked for Nicole Miller in NYC for the past decade, has her own line of lingerie and is a big fan of the Flyers, especially Kimmo Timonen (left), who is also from Finland. Also below: Lieutenant Colonel Shawn Phillips, retired superintendent of Valley Forge Military Academy & College.

Below: Fantastic in Flyers orange, a Nicole Miller-clad Nadine Coburn and Steven Lagos. Lagos donated a $10,000 bracelet, with matching earrings, for the live auction. They sold for $7,500. Very nice.

Below: Fox 29’s Good Day co-anchors Mike Jerrick and Sheinelle Jones (the masters of ceremonies) introduce the first item up for bid in the live auction: a bike signed by all the Flyers. Flyer Max Talbot, who is no doubt singing “I’m too sexy for this bike,” takes it for a spin. Irene Shabel picked it up for $5,000. Husband Fred A. Shabel is vice-chairman of Comcast Spectacor. Other items that sold in the live auction included a face on the wall at the Palm for $2,500 and a DiBruno’s party for 20 that went for $2500. Other silent auction standouts: A hockey stick signed by Scott Hartnell brought in $150, and a Chris Pronger-autographed jersey, glove and puck went for $700.

Below: Flyer Matt Carle, Chase Lenfest, owner of Lenfest Media Group, and Flyers Scott Hartnell and Claude Giroux seem to enjoy the show as the wives strutted to the sounds of CTO Entertainment.

Below: The paparazzi have their cameras trained on Zjenia Brygalov, but she only has eyes for …

… her husband, Flyers goalie Ilya Brygalov. Here, he catches her every move. Behind Brygalov is Holly Kinser. Also spotted in the crowd were: Mariska Bogle, Lynsie Solomon, Michelle and Bruce Shannon, Aisling Hall, Mary Perenti and Rich Castor, Ron Caplan, Colette Gabriel, Juliette Gabriel, Susan Adair, Danielle Grimm, Jim Haney, Diane O’Mara and Suzanne Glass.

Below: For the finale, Lauren Hart sang a terrific rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory.”
