Senator Bob Casey Calls Shenanigans on Anti-Phillies Ticket Campaign

Senator Bob Casey has weighed in on—of all things—the ticket policy currently preventing Phillies fans from purchasing tickets to the club’s series in Washington this May. The “Take Back the Ballpark” campaign only allows people to purchase tickets with credit cards that have billing addresses in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. The Senator sent a letter to the Nationals organization pleading, “In the spirit of good sportsmanship and healthy competition, I urge you to reconsider the policy and immediately allow Phillies fans equal access to ticket sales at Nationals Park.” Thanks Mr. Senator, but I’m sure we’ll figure it out on our own. Plus, by May 4th the Nats will probably have been eliminated from playoff contention, so tickets won’t be hard to come by. [Daily News]
