Chase Utley Is Playing Baseball. The second baseman will begin playing in extended spring training games down in Clearwater as part of his rehab assignment. He’ll start out as a DH and eventually shift into a position in the field. There’s no timetable for his return. [The 700 Level]

Neshaminy Teachers Strike Again. Seniors at Neshaminy High School get a free pass on final exams (that doesn’t suck), but underclassmen will have to wait to take theirs as the district’s teachers are now picketing. The teacher’s went on strike for eight days in January. A state mandate dictates that this strike can only last 10 days. The teachers are protesting over a four-year contract dispute. [6 ABC]

T.O. Threatens Lawsuit. Terrell Owens was recently canned from his gig as an Indoor Football League player. He was supposedly fired for missing a scheduled event at a children’s hospital and for refusing to travel for road games. Owens has said that a team publicist mixed up the dates of the event at the children’s hospital causing him to miss it. He says that if the team doesn’t issue an apology and pay him the $160,000 he’s allegedly owed, then he’ll file a lawsuit. [Deadspin]

Molotov Cocktails Thrown at Witness’s House. Police say that someone threw five Molotov cocktails at the Frankford home of Victor Guzman. Guzman was shot two weeks ago when he tried to shield his stepson from a barrage of bullets outside their home. His stepson was killed in the incident, allegedly over an argument about cigarettes. None of the Molotov cocktails ignited properly. [Metro]

Billboards Help Woman Look for Kidney Donor. Twenty-four billboards between New York City and Reading, PA—and all along the Jersey Shore—are designed to help a woman from Roslyn, Pennsylvania find a kidney donor. [Philadelphia Business Journal]

Scoop Works Out for Sixers. Scoop Jardine—a South Philly native who turned down Villanova to play basketball at Syracuse—participated in a pre-draft workout for the Sixers. Jardine was a star guard at Neumann-Goretti and is currently working with another Philly native—Ben Franklin High School’s Jerome “Pooh” Richardson—to help convince an NBA team he’s worth a second-round pick.
