HughE Dillon One-Shot: New Dallas Stars Promise Drama

Plus: More shirtless men than on original TV series.

Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo star in TNT’s continuance of Dallas (don’t call it a remake), the iconic nighttime soap opera that ran from 1978 to 1991. The new Dallas will focus on the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers JR (Larry Hagman) and Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy), who will both be returning to the new series along with Linda Gray who played Sue Ellen. (Desperate Housewives‘ Brenda Strong plays Bobby’s wife, Ann.) The girls were in town promoting the summer series, which begins June 13th with a double episode. On the show, Jordana is the girlfriend of John Ross Ewing (Josh Henderson). Julie is the girlfriend of lead character Christopher Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe). The girls promise that there will be plenty of drama (Jordana’s character, Elena Ramos, used to be the fiance of Christopher Ewing and is now dating John Ross), intensity, and lots of eye candy, as the guys spend a lot of their time shirtless in the hot Dallas sun, and the girls—let’s just say no one’s waiting for marriage. You may recall seeing Jordana Brewster around Philly in 2005 as she filmed the movie Annapolis with James Franco. She told me that over the weekend she was able to take Julie Gonzalo to some of her favorite haunts, visiting the historic district, grabbing cheesesteaks at Tony Luke’s, and lunching at Morimoto yesterday.
