Atlantic City’s new Revel casino opened with a whole lot of bling thanks to Beyonce, who gave four sold out shows there over Memorial Day Weekend. But when I was putting together my Summer Concert Guide, I realized that the rest of the season was sorely lacking at the $2.4 billion property, with the roster including such ho-hum inducing acts as Seal and Def Leppard. But today, Revel takes it up a notch (well, several) by announcing two nights with Kanye West, who will play the casino’s Ovation Hall on July 6th and 7th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, but prices are not currently available. Bet on this: it won’t be cheap. The Revel shows mark West’s first solo performances since this 2011 Coachella appearance and his first-ever solo performances in Atlantic City, where he previously played with Jay-Z.
UPDATE: Tickets range from $99.50 for upper orchestra to $500 for VIP, the latter including a seat in a “superbox” as well as food and drinks.
