Jerry Sandusky’s Adopted Son Was Set to Testify for the Prosecution [UPDATE]
On Wednesday, the defense finished presenting its case to the jury in the trial of former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky. Sandusky did not take the stand in his own defense because, if he had, his adopted son Matt was in the courtroom to be a rebuttal witness for the prosecution. Matt Sandusky—who has spent time sitting with Jerry Sandusky’s wife and the rest of the family during the trial—apparently contacted prosecutors after proceedings began and said that he would take the stand to discuss some of the alleged incidents he witnessed his father commit. UPDATE: Attorney Andrew Shubin, representing Jerry Sandusky’s adopted son Matt, has now said that Matt Sandusky alleges he was molested by Jerry Sandusky.
Shubin also said Matt was prepared to testify truthfully at trial, if called by prosecutors. It is unclear why he did not testify.
