Coming Soon From Philly Mag: An Eagles Blog

Year-round coverage of the Birds.

Are you ready for some football? Given the way the Phillies have been playing, I suspect the answer to that question is yes. Which is why I’m extra-excited to announce that, in a few weeks, Philly Mag will unveil a blog devoted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to covering the Eagles.

At the helm will be two of Philly’s brightest young sports journalists, Sheil Kapadia and Tim McManus. Sheil has spent the last several years as the sports editor at philly.com, where he wrote the popular Eagles blog “Moving the Chains.” Tim has been the Eagles beat reporter at 97.5 The Fanatic, as well as a staffer at Philly Sports Daily. (He’ll continue to contribute to the radio station.)

What will make this blog different from the others out there? Our goal is for it to be nothing less than one-stop shopping for the obsessed Eagles fan—covering the team’s moves, both on and off the field, on a year-round basis (including the draft, OTAs and training camp); providing in-depth analysis and commentary; and aggregating all the best Eagles coverage on the web. In short, if it has anything to do with the Eagles, you’ll be able to read about it—and react to it—here.

The new blog further strengthens our commitment to expanding the Philadelphia magazine brand beyond our flagship print publication. As with The Philly Post, Foobooz, BeWellPhilly, and the other parts of phillymag.com, the Eagles blog puts the Philly Mag spin on a subject we know Philadelphians care about.

We’ll announce the blog’s name, and a few other details, next week.
