Prosecutors to Retry Reverend James Brennan in Catholic Church Sexual Abuse Case

Philadelphia prosecutors have announced that they will retry Reverend James Brennan for the alleged attempted rape of a 14-year-old boy in 1996. A jury came back deadlocked on Brennan’s case earlier this year when they convicted Monsignor William Lynn of one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The deadlocked jury had debated for 13 days before a judge declared a mistrial. [Inquirer]
