Penn State’s football student athletes made an announcement today, indicating that they’re eager to turn the NCAA’s sanctions against the university into an opportunity. Senior running back Michael Zordich and senior linebacker Michael Mauti were the two players to speak on behalf of the team. Their message, clearly, is that the Nittany Lions do not intend to let the scandal or NCAA sanctions tear them apart. Instead, they look forward to representing the university and working hard at their trade.
“No sanction, no politician is ever going to take away what we’ve got here. None of that is ever going to tear this apart. Right now, all we can do… we’re putting our heads down and going to work.”
