Plaintiff in Voter ID Battle Gets Photo ID


On Thursday, a judge announced that he would not block Pennsylvania’s new voter identification law prior to the upcoming November election. Civil rights groups like the ACLU intend to appeal the ruling, but, in the mean time, the lead plaintiff in the case—93-year-old Viviette Applewhite, who testified during on the issue in Commonwealth Court back in July—went ahead and got herself a photo ID from PennDOT.
