Anonymous Calls Out Philly City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson

Late last week, the hacktivist group Anonymous weighed in on the whole Ori Feibush/vacant lot debacle playing out in Point Breeze. On Sunday, the group released a second video, clarifying that they weren’t threatening City Hall, but were merely calling upon the citizens of Philadelphia to peacefully protest the city’s condemnation of Feibush. Additionally, they say that City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson depreciated property value on Ellsworth Street when the city sold a lot for $500 even though it was once valued at over $50,000.

COUNCILMAN KENYATTA JOHNSON, We now know why you purposefully destroy the land value. We have discovered that you have purchased [sic] 2040 Ellsworth Street four years ago for a mere five hundred dollars, despite being valued in excess of fifty thousand dollars. The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority does not discuss that sale, because City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson just bought a new house on that very lot. How is this not tax fraud?
