VIDEO: Philly Cop Sucker Punches Woman at Puerto Rican Parade

Ugh. This is a video of a Puerto Rican parade in North Philadelphia. At the beginning of the clip, you can see the woman on the left side of the frame spraying something in the direction of the officers. Water? Silly string? I don’t know. But, it’s safe to say that the officer noticed. [Gawker]

UPDATE: The incident has sparked an investigation. The officer that strikes the woman is said to be Lt. Jonathan Josey. Josey has made headlines before, specifically when he was stabbed while breaking up a fight outside a bar in West Philly and when he shot and killed a man after he interrupted a robbery in progress at a local 7-Eleven. UPDATE: The incident did not take place at the site of the 50th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade on the Parkway. The cop struck the woman in North Philly near 5th and Lehigh.
