Just got off the phone with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Public Affairs office. NBC has been reporting that a man rescued from a collapsed building in North Philadelphia was thereafter arrested on suspicion of looting. And, of course, this news has made it halfway around the world. But according to a PPD spokesperson, “Although Channel 10 is reporting that there was an arrest made, that appears to be incorrect. We’ve checked the location and have spoken to both districts, and there’s nothing.” She adds that there were zero storm-related arrests made last night and zero homicides reported.
