What Happened to Philadelphia’s Missing Votes?

There’s no doubt that Democrats handily beat Republicans at the Philadelphia polls last week: Philly is Philly after all. Still, if one was a paranoid Republicans—the kind of folks who see a conspiracy in every Black Panther and mural—one might feeling more paranoid than usual today. Why? Polling guru Nate Silver reports that two dozen precincts in town still haven’t reported their election results yet. How does that happen? Combine it with the fact that Mitt Romney didn’t even get an accidental vote in 59 of the city’s voting divisions last week, and, well. It doesn’t exactly stretch credulity, because a lot of weird things happen in this town. But GOP paranoia? Maybe a little understandable. [New York Times]
