Well, maybe not. But news of a life-saving new gene therapy is certainly promising. “Our goal is to have a cure, but we can’t say that word,” Penn researcher Carl June told the New York Times, which has documented the case of Emma Whitehead. Earlier this year, the Pennsylvania girl was near death due to leukemia. These days, thanks to June’s groundbreaking new gene therapy (and, I imagine, a lot of prayer), 7-year-old Whitehead is “practicing somersaults”. [New York Times]
