Obama Apparently Taking NRA “Cops in Schools” Idea Seriously

Following the Sandy Hook massacre, the NRA’s main solutions for curbing gun violence involved putting cops in schools (what about movie theaters, parking lots, and Sikh temples?) and banning video games. The NRA was promptly ridiculed. So what is the White House planning to do about gun violence? Stock schools with police officers and meet with video game industry representatives. The Obama administration will also likely propose stricter background checks and bans on high-ammo magazine clips (David Gregory’s favorite). The mighty NRA, apparently, has quashed all hope of an assault-weapons ban. [Washington Post]
