Federal Courthouse Evacuated After Possible Anthrax Threat [Updated]

The second floor of the Federal Courthouse has been evacuated following the delivery of a suspicious envelope, according to Executive Chief Richard Davison of the Philadelphia Fire Department. Fox reported earlier that an inmate at the courthouse told officials he sent the letter to the second floor, and it contained anthrax. Davison said nothing about anthrax, and says the PFD is currently investigating but declined to comment further. A reader tells The Philly Post that about six fire trucks are currently stationed outside the courthouse.

Updated [2:49 p.m., 2/20/13]: The threat was indeed an anthrax scare, though none was found, and everyone evacuated has been let back in the building.
