Tom Ridge, who codified Pennsylvania’s gay marriage ban into law in 1996, has signed an amicus curiae brief lobbying the Supreme Court to strike down California Prop 8 (which overturned a state law legalizing gay marriage). The court hears the case this month. The brief is signed by a group of people who fit the description “Prominent Republicans who realize opposing gay marriage will soon become political folly.” Also co-signing: Clint Eastwood.
