Closing Arguments in Gosnell Case Today

Ever since the Boston Marathon bombings, the feverish call for increased coverage of the Kermit Gosnell trial has died down. Today, lest you had forgotten, the defense and prosecution will offer their closing arguments, marking the end of a trial that has dipped in and out of the headlines over its seven week span. Last week, the defense made the somewhat puzzling decision not to call any witnesses. Gosnell’s lawyer Jack McMahon is apparently hoping that he made a convincing enough case in cross-examination that there is no “medical certainty” that his client killed any infants while alive.
