The 100 Highest-Paid City of Philadelphia Employees

Did you get a raise this year?

Last year around this time, we compiled a list of some of the highest-paid employees of the City of Philadelphia. So we decided to take a look at the 2013 numbers. Perhaps unsurprisingly, pretty much everyone on the list is making more this year than they were last year, and their combined salaries cost Philadelphia taxpayers more than $15.1 million. (That’s per year.)

For those of you who keep track of such things, 34 of the top 100 City of Philadelphia salaries belong to women, with Philadelphia Free Library head Siobhan Reardon leading the way at $197,313. That’s a lot of overdue fees.

The lowest salary on the top 100 list belongs to Councilman Mark Squilla’s Chief of Staff, Anne Kelly, whose salary is $128,919. Strangely, she makes more than her boss, who doesn’t even make the list. (Like most Council members, he gets $123,600 annually, the same amount earned by Sheriff Jewell Williams, Register of Wills Ronald Donatucci, and City Commissioners Al Schmidt and Stephanie Singer.)

But all of them still make a heck of a lot more than the average Philadelphian: the per capita income in Philadelphia is a paltry $21,671 and the median household income stands at $36,957, both significantly lower than the statewide averages.

Below, the 100 Highest-Paid City of Philadelphia employees based on current payroll data.
