ESPN’s Rick Reilly Wants to Take Merion Out Back and Shoot It
The U.S. Open is being held at the Merion Golf Club. Merion is small. We get that. Rick Reilly wants us to get it even more. The ESPN columnist compares it to:
- A casserole dish
- A rotary dial phone
- Ebbetts Field
- A pillbox hat
- The pants you wore in high school
And then he compares it to a dog. Not a small one. But one he wants dead. “So enjoy cuddly, furry, wonderful Merion for this one last week. Hopefully, after this, it goes the way of Old Yeller.”
