Derek Jeter’s Glorious Career As a Scranton Rail-Rider Has Ended

Derek Jeter, who’s been a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Rider since last weekend, is officially bidding farewell to the Yankees Triple-A affiliate. He’s back in the Bronx today, where he singled in his first at-bat. It’ll be the most tearful goodbye at PNC stadium since, well, May, when the cast of The Office took the field.

During his nearly week-long stay in Scranton, Jeter became a man about town, eating dinners at steakhouses around the region, having a salad at State Street Grill in Clarks Summit, seafood at Cooper’s, lunch at the Downtown Deli and hitting Pittston for Italian food. He became a Starbucks regular at the Steamtown Mall, and he posed for pictures with fans at just about every stop.

Look forward to the forthcoming biopic Seafood at Cooper‘s, which will document in painstaking detail every waking and non-waking moment of the Captain’s glorious week (1-9, 4 BBs). [Times-Tribune]
